Yorkshire: hospedarias

My partner and I stayed at Hilary and Peter’s cottage when attending a wedding nearby and we loved it! It’s a beautiful building set in a picturesque village and has been recently renovated to the highest standard. We only met Hilary (and the three dogs!) during our stay and she was the loveliest host who made us feel incredibly welcome and answered all of our questions about the local area to help us settle in as well as having a good old chat. The cottage was also fully stocked with breakfast food, coffee, tea and fresh milk which we really appreciated after an 8 hour drive! We only stayed for a couple of nights but we’ve already decided that we will try and make it back up to the cottage for a longer holiday soon!

Me and my partner absolutely loved our stay here. Sue met us on arrival and couldn’t have been more helpful. The place itself was lovely, very clean, and spacious. The Hot Tub was great! Another great touch was having milk, bread, cereals and even fresh eggs from the hens. Cannot wait to stay here again.

Lovely break with parents and our son, 30 mins to York main town, we got a little lost on how to find the main door but the host quickly showed us it’s just to the back of the main house through the main garden area.

I had a fantastic stay at Amelia’s Cottage. It was really beautifully presented; the bed was so comfortable, the shower great and I loved the sun shining in when I was relaxing in the retro chair. Peaceful neighbourhood with stunning scenery. Lots of pretty walks, suggested by Stephen; I did 4 in one day. Started off walking up the hill to Riber where the castle is then took the winding road to Starkholmes; from there you can walk to High Tor just above Matlock Bath which gives you breathtaking views. Walk down the hill to Matlock Bath then onto Matlock. The cafe in the park is ace; nice coffee, delicious cakes and tasty meals. After that you can walk up to Lumsdale Falls on the way back to Tansley. I loved it. The train from Matlock to Belper is also fantastic with pretty scenery along the way. There is so much to do, you won’t get bored. Highly recommend Bakewell and the original Bakewell Pudding yum! A big shout out to Mitzyboo and Piglet who were beautiful {>

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay, its so close to the zoo which was ideal. The bungalow had everything we needed and more, the garden was great for the little one to run around in. The hosts were so friendly and helpful.

Very cute little vestry building, perfect for two. Poynton is a lovely village with lots of cafes and restaurants. it was beautiful weather so there was lots of opportunities to try out some of the walks suggested in the welcome pack. The hosts were very friendly and did their best to respond to any issues we had. The mezzanine is pretty high and my daughter did not feel comfortable sleeping up there, but there was a z-bed which we used in the lounge area instead. Thanks for a great stay.

Myself and my cousin had the most enjoyable stay. The hosts Danny & Deborah made us feel really welcome, and were very friendly. The lodge was clean, and tastefully furnished, and set in beautiful grounds, and had everything we needed. We stayed from Thursday 27th March 2025 - Saturday 29th March, and was furtunate enough to be blessed with wall to wall sunshine, so was able to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We all had a lovely stay with Pete and Sue. The annexe was spacious and perfect for a group of 4! It was extremely homely and comfortable, you can’t fault it! We were very well welcomed by Milo who was a real character😅! They had great recommendations for the area which was stunning! It was easy to locate and had no trouble at all! Hugely appreciated their hospitality and was definitely worth the visit. We hope to come back to the area soon!😁

I booked this accommodation for a newlywed couple, and they absolutely loved it! From the start, Louise was an incredible host—her communication was excellent throughout the whole process, which made everything smooth and stress-free. What really stood out was the thoughtful surprise she left for the couple—it completely made their day and added such a personal, memorable touch to their stay. The place itself is stunning, with beautiful views and a relaxed vibe that's just perfect for a city break. Would 100% recommend staying here. The BEST air bnb we’ve stayed in! So peaceful, beautiful views of sheep in the fields. The place is so clean and have EVERYTHING you could need! The dressing gowns were great for the hot tub! We loved the fresh bread, crisps and salsa as a lovely extra and a bottle of cava! We were celebrating our 1st anniversary so this was such a lovely surprise! Honestly couldn’t recommend enough. The kitchen has everything you need as well as milk, butter and orange juice. It was absolutely perfect and we are so grateful. Will recommend to all friends and family and would definitely return!

Great hosts and an amazing property. A beautiful location with great views over the village. The scullery had everything we needed and was a beautiful place to stay. Peter and Emma were very friendly and helpful. They made us feel at home and provided great advice. We had a great welcome and had an amazing stay. We highly recommend staying at the scullery and would come back here again.

Another wonderful stay at Alicia beautiful and well appointed barn conversion. As before the property was presented immaculately and had everything we required for a wonderful stay with our cocker spaniel.

We had a wonderful stay at Amy's place! We especially enjoyed exploring the garden, which had a lovely, almost National Trust-like charm. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the decor was unique and inviting, and the kitchen was new, well-equipped, and spotless. We would definitely book again when visiting family. The only small downside was that the TV wasn’t a smart TV, and the sofa was a bit on the softer side.

This was mine and my partners second time staying at the Stables. And it definitely won’t be our last. I cannot recommend enough. I’ve never felt so relaxed, at peace and chilled. The views are absolutely stunning, the hot tub makes it even better!! Watching the sunrise and sunset was absolutely beautiful and even managed to have a little sunbathe as the weather was gorgeous. Gemma has thought of every little detail and I cannot fault this place. She is very polite and very easy to communicate with. Thank you so much for another amazing stay, we will be back very soon!!🫶🏼

Awesome stay! They even left us a bottle of wine with Welsh cheese, crackers & grapes as a welcome. Probably one of the cleanest AirBnBs I’ve ever stayed in!

Well cared for accommodation. Don’t feel our brief stopover did it justice.

We had a wonderful stay at Julia's lovely property in Poynton. We found it clean, comfortable, and perfectly located in the centre of town.

Immediately we arrived we felt relaxed and at home and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The space is beautifully arranged and so comfortable and we had everything we needed. The views across the surrounding countryside were lovely. The location is also very close to the surrounding suburbs (we enjoyed a super breakfast at Cafe Valentino in Bramhall) and shops. Thank you for a great stay.

The cottage is far better than the photos suggest. It is really spacious and comfortable and is set in a pretty garden. Lots of nice touches and plenty of good equipment. An easy walk to an excellent gourmet Indian restaurant and to other restaurants and pubs. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Roger’s cottage. Absolutely met our expectations. Beautiful surroundings, quiet and relaxing. A+

A lovely little cottage had everything you needed for a short stay and in a great spot in walking distance of everything around Windermere and boweness. Would 100% stay again in the near future.

Perfect night away for my partner, myself and the pooch. Claire and Aidan are the most excellent of hosts and couldn’t be more accommodating. The lodge is so beautiful of a place we already have plans to go back, such was our experience, just a shame we only booked the one night. If you’re taking a 4 legged friend with you, the field behind the lodge is perfect for your canine friend and Claire and Aidan’s pack may even come and say hello too, which was so lovely as it gave our pooch friends to play with, which helped us relax even further during our stay. The lodge is immaculate and better than as described, with nice little finishing touches which I will leave as a surprise for you to discover yourselves. Thank you to Claire and Aidan for such a lovely night away, Brett misses Clyde already 😂🤣😂.

Our second stay and will definitely be coming back. Lodge is very clean, has everything needed for a comfortable stay and the kids love the hot tub. Perfect location- 10 min walk to Penrith town centre and 10 mins drive to A66 and M6. Thanks for another great stay guys!

In many ways this was perhaps the best Airbnb we've stayed in. The Annex had everything we needed. The garden was a lovely place to sit and eat our meals. Joan and her husband were lovely. It was peaceful, and near to some lovely places that we enjoy - Lincoln, The Kinema in the Woods at Woodhall Spa, the River Witham and the River Rail Trail for cycling.
