Step aboard The Toad, a beautifully restored 1921 GWR brake van (AKA Toad Wagon), once a vital part of post-war goods trains. Our beautiful shepherd's hut sits in four acres of secluded woodland in rural Hexhamshire. Enjoy the peaceful solitude, with glimpsed views through the mature oaks onto the North Pennines. Surrounded by miles of footpaths, bridleways and moorland, there are walking, cycling and riding options in every direction. Nearby rural pubs offer delicious local ales and fantastic food. Or cook up something tasty over the firepit grill, then enjoy a drink on the raised deck in the evening sun.

"Hares Rest" shepherd hut is situated in a private location within a paddock with amazing rural views. Hares, red kites, barn swallows and deer are just some of the wild life you can see. Good pubs within various walking distance (3, 30 and 45 mins). Bowood House, adventure park, golf course and spa is 5 mins drive away. The train station is a 10 minute drive with easy access to Bath. We have horses so only very well behaved dogs are allowed by prior agreement and additional charge.
