This was our first time staying in the Guerneville area and honestly, the location in proximity to the town and Russian River (our main attraction) was hard to beat! The cabin is certainly unique & charming, and we enjoyed many of the features mentioned in the listing. The difficulty we had was with the nature of a place that doesn’t get much sunlight (not sure how it is in summer — we stayed in October.) There was a substantial mildew smell & it could feel dark, damp, and cramped at times. Bedding was not refreshed in any of the rooms and hot tub was dirty upon arrival. Outdoor furniture was unusable due to it all being soaked from the rains & not being able to dry out. Unfortunately, a house is being built next door right now and the construction was considerably noisy during our stay. The neighborhood is cramped & not very private as there are no curtains. Sara was very responsive & accommodating around these challenges & I feel she is a responsible host. Could use more maintenance.
