Don’s beautiful VanHoevenberg Ridge has become our home base in the ADK, and a “home away from home” where we return several times a year to relax and enjoy the beauty of the mountains and lakes in all seasons. This is by far the best place we have stayed since we have been coming to the ADK for over 30 years. If you are lucky enough to stay here, you’ll be back! Don’s place has everything you’ll need, and is near to everywhere you’ll want to go. The views of the High Peaks are stellar, and the hot tub is relaxing after an active day outdoors. Don is a welcoming host who truly cares that his guests have the best experience, whether avid hikers or simply wanderers seeking serenity and renewal in the woods and waters near his home. He respects your privacy, but is happy to provide his knowledge of the area to find the best hike or paddle for you. This place is our North Star in the ADK: bright, constant, and a place we’ll always look to return to. We recommend it highly to everyone!

beautiful place right on the river! Lake Champlain and the ferry are a 5-10 minute drive, and you are able to bring your pup with!

The Chalet was just perfect. Listing perfectly described what you were getting with this little piece of paradise! The Sauna was easily workable. The hot tub was clean and ready to go. The whole house was immaculate and roomy yet cozy. Perfect distance to the MANY MANY WATERFALLS the boyfriend and I were chasing. Skiing at Whiteface will be happening in the future, and hopefully using Judi's gorgeous Chalet to ease my weary bones once again in the future. Barbara was a wonderful host. The space was perfect for the four of us over the holiday break. Our kids especially enjoyed the game room and took advantage of the puzzles. Cozy home with great views and privacy.

Nice clean place to stay and excellent communication from the hosts. The property matches what's described. We were skiing all day and was a good spot to crash. It was bit further from Killington than we wanted, but that was clear up front!

A perfect spot for us and our small pooch. The only challenge was that I had to carry our small dog upstairs, because she couldn’t do the stairs. Wonderful,private location, and Barb dealt with an internet issue very promptly, but also respected our privacy.

the cottage was great. perfect for our needs and dog friendly. we even decided to stay an extra day. the host was extremely responsive. would definitely recommend

We stayed here while visiting family in Hanover forThanksgiving. A spacious house nestled within an amazing wooded area. We had the pleasure of waking up to all the trees covered in fresh snow. All the more perfect because the house has huge windows lots of natural light. Highly recommend.

We loved our long weekend stay at The Hideaway! The house and property are beautiful. With two families enjoying the space, it was really nice to have two bedrooms and a bathroom on the bottom level, and two bedrooms and bathroom on the 2nd level - made for two nice family suite areas and then a huge common space on the main floor. Leslie had plenty of wood ready for us to use in the fireplace and was very proactive about de-icing the walkway (it was a snowy weekend)! Would highly recommend staying here - and we will be back! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!
