This is the most trendy neighborhood for New York nightlife. Home of many clubs if you like to go dancing, SoHo House, Tao, Catch, The Standard, The Gansevoort… if you are not into a nightlife scene it is still a fabulous destination. You can see an art exhibit at The Whitney, grab some gelato while exploring Chelsea Market and walk The Highline! The Standard Beirgartin is fun, play ping pong and foosball while you enjoy a brew, next door at you can grab a craft cocktail at The Standard bar. The Standard Grill is lovely and The Standard Rooftop Bar is really something to behold! Other favorite rooftop bars in the neighborhood include the dripping-in-chandeliers Restoration Hardware Rooftop (a crowning jewel atop the furniture store, and the Catch Rooftop right next door.

Home of Whitney museum and highline entrance which is a great walk on elevated rail to give a completely different perspective of the city. sunday rooftop party at le bain and steps from the west side highway piers
This is a high-fashion, local area (as opposed to 5th Ave - which is high fashion and tourist-centric)
What use to be a dark grungy sketchy area, is now one of the most expensive hip neighborhoods in the city. The Meatpacking District is a hip commercial area on the far west side. It's home to the Whitney Museum of American Art, high-end designer clothing stores and a stretch of the High Line, an elevated park built atop former railroad tracks, fancy hotels & rooftop bars. At ground level, the cobblestone streets are filled with trendy restaurants and clubs that have taken over the cavernous spaces once occupied by the namesake meatpacking plants. A must see, when visiting NYC.
