A very peaceful couple of nights away - enjoyed being close to several good walking routes and pretty villages. Having a car is a must to get around. The accommodation is on a campsite and surrounded by other homes but we weren't bothered by any neighbours or any particular lack of privacy - the terrace has uninterrupted views of nature which was a delight. Emi was an extremely helpful and generous host, her instructions were very valuable when finding the property for the first time - as there's no phone signal at the campsite it was useful to take screenshots beforehand!

it was our 2nd year of staying at the house to partake in the Manchester marathon. it was within walking distance of the start and finish we walked to Bella Italia for food on Saturday night and got a takeaway from the list provided on Sunday night

We were visiting family nearby and were so pleased with this home. It was quirky and full of character. The secure garden was perfect and everything was so neat and proper. It had excellent facilities and the little touches like coffee, tea and milk were perfect. The fact that dogs are allowed was very welcoming and kind. The only thing was the main road was quite loud but just bring some ear plugs and you’ll be absolutely fine. It’s worth it for this property which has everything you could need in a very beautiful village. We would 100% return if we came back to the area.

We had such a lovely family weekend at the Hobbit House. It is set in the most amazing garden that is wonderful to explore. Our two boys enjoyed going to see the chickens on a morning and collecting the eggs. They also loved the guinea pigs and have requested that we should get some :) The Hobbit House itself is really cool and well made. The online guide is a great help! The little door is a fab feature and was a hit with our boys. Inside was very cosy and had plenty of amenities for a weekend. It was the perfect size for a family of 5 with two small children and our chihuahua. We added on the hot tub which was a great extra, it felt like you were relaxing in the middle of a forest! The local area was also great. We ate out at some of the recommendations (The Duckworth Arms, The Drop off Cafe and Eagle and Child) in the guide and the food was amazing! Overall, The Hobbit House was even better than expected and we hope to return in the future! Thank you for the perfect weekend! :)

A wonderful place to stay. The cabin is decorated to a high standard and has everything you could need for a cosy escape! I loved the mezzanine bed with the window to look at the sky. I’ll definitely be back again and stay longer! Host was wonderful also. Very flexible and helpful. Thanks again Nic!!

Ruth and Terry are the perfect hosts. They were very friendly and knowledgeable of the best areas to visit and the best times to go. My husband fell in love with George, their super cute and friendly dog. The piggery is beautifully decorated with quirky accessories. It has everything you need. The bed is so comfy that I am wanting to change our mattress. We visited Hebden bridge on Thursday when there is a little market on. we recommend the Indian and bread stall. Hebden is a great area to visit for quaint shops and strolls along the park and waterways. we also visited piece square, which is quite bizarre. You could almost imagine that you are in Italy. We sampled some delicious chocolate from the chocolatier and had the most amazing pizza and Gelato ice-cream from Royd's. Definitely recommend a visit there as the service was superb. We also visited Shibden Hall and for any of you "Gentleman Jack" fans, this is a must. Also recommended the Beehive for a meal.

The Shippen was perfect for our stay in Manchester with our son. It is really well laid out with en-suites in both bedrooms, spotlessly clean and with beautiful views across the countryside. Beverley and David have thought of everything, giving us a really comfortable, and quiet retreat - perfect. We hope to return.
