Bar Nestor Famous bar in the old part for a steak, tortilla de patatas or tomato salad. Very small and rustic, super authentic. Expect to eat perched at a bar or on a small table.

Zeruko offers a less traditional style of pintxos, very sophisticated and surprising. They are also a bit expensive but it is true that there is a lot of work behind each of the bites. Try the "hoguera de bacalao", a cod based pintxo.

Meticulously presented, though contrasts of textures and flavours sometimes go too far down the showy molecular route. Try the marmitako, a traditional Basque tuna and potato soup.
