This is a fantastic place set on the coastline for people interested in history, having a picnic in the grounds or just going for a stroll. Strolling and picnicking on the ground is free and you can go inside the Castle ruins for a cost. If is owned by English Heritage. The village is worth a walk too, as it has some beautiful and interesting historical houses.

Castle and fort built in the 3rd century AD. Beautiful views over the water to Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnaker Tower.

This is where Portsmouth started and you are treated to hundreds of years of history here - I love this place and we often show it off to our visitors.

Full of history.. Check out the church... It is beautiful and they have lovely welcoming services. There is a coffee shop next to the church and a van selling sweet things. The walk arou d the castle is amazing when blustery as it really clears your head..the sea views are amazing when calm and when rough, and the lite beach is great for dog walks. Pop into the cormorant toofor really good food and ale.
