Named after the indigenous Taino Indians, Taino beach is one of freeport's finest beaches. Soft white sand surrounded by clear water is great for quiet evenings or an all-out party.

Take a short ferry ride from Pelican Bay Hotel across to Flamingo Bay Hotel (8$ return; runs every quarter after from Pelican Bay & on the hour from Flamingo Bay Hotel). From there it is about a 15 minute walk to the restaurants & beautiful Taino Beach.

The entire south shore of Grand Bahama is lined with stunning beaches. The sand is pure white, the water opal blue, and once out of town you will likely be alone on the beach. Great for beach-combing, picnics, swimming or just laying on a blanket on the sand...

The seabathing here is great. We often would pack our stuff, go for a late breakfast/lunch at Taino Beach Restaurant on the Beach and then go enjoy a nice seabath. There are washrooms at the restaurant which makes it very convenient too. The hotel will allow you to park in their parking once you are patronizing their restaurant.
