Hignetts is classed as a supermarket but that is misleading as it's definitely something a little bit special. As such it is a favourite with the locals. Their meat is first class and the bakery section is deliciously tempting. It is well worth visiting if you're exploring anywhere near Pontesbury.

Excellent local independent grocery store in Pontesbury. Has a bakery with wide range of bread, pastries and cakes and hot food on order.

Hignetts have been supplying food and drink for the local area for over 100 years. They sell good quality meat and vegetables, a fair selection of groceries and they do splendid bread and cakes. We always get the bread and cakes we leave for you from there. Do try their GI bread or the Stilton and walnut.
