Hike the Craggy Gardens Trail, climbing through a beautiful high-elevation forest filled with blooming rhododendron, wild blueberries and wildflowers to stunning summit views just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Easy to moderate 1.9 mile round trip.

We recommend this pretty easy hike on a hot day. You will drive up to the mountain to cooler elevation and may even need a jacket on a warm day up there. There is a parking lot and picnic area with a trail off to the side to begin your hike. Great place to bring a picnic as well.

Just 18 miles north on the Blue Ridge Parkway (access is 5 min. from cottage). Craggy Gardens offers several great trails and an amazing 360 view from the top of Craggy Pinicle.
