Going to Shutters in Santa Monica is kind of like sitting at someone's really rich, cool aunt's beach house. The cool thing is that if you ask, they’ll serve you drinks on the beach. They’ll give you an umbrella with two chairs, and bring your cocktails out to you in the sand. The drink menu is not going to wow you, but they do their cocktails right. Try a Peach Mule, peach infused Vodka, lime, ginger beer and Angostura bitters.

The Shutters is one of only two 5-star hotels in Santa Monica (the other is its sister hotel across the street) and the Lobby Bar is ultra-luxurious and features comfortable overstuffed sofas to lounge on, a piano player, fireplace, beautiful but laid back and relaxed decor, indoor/outdoor seating, an amazing assortment of wine and beverages, wonderful appetizers and vegan options, and ocean views located on the beach.
