More than 5,000 acres of moorland to explore. The Moors are home to wildlife such as mountain hare, merlin and golden plover and plants such as sundew & cranberry. Visit the information centre next to the train station or download a trail at www.national trust.orh.uk/marsdenmoor

This place is never ending and it’s vastness is what makes it so epic. At pints you can see for miles and if you do it right you cover around 6 reservoirs on your walk. It’s quiet remote in parts so not for anyone who’s not committed to a good long trek (although I’m sure you can do it in parts - I just always do the long slog)
