The Major Oak at Edwinstowe and the Sherwood Forest Visitors Centre are worth a visit. The Major Oak, according to folklore, is where Robin Hood and his Merry Men are said to have rested.
One of the world’s most famous trees. Thought to be between 800 and 1,100 years old. The tree is 15 minute walk from the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre on the edge of Edwinstowe.
