This offers great entertainment for the whole family, with a fantastic hands on interactive exhibition, games and quizzes, brass rubbings, and children’s costumes to dress up in! It is open all year, and reasonably priced, making it a great location for a fun family day out that won’t break the bank. Experience Saxon life as you travel back in time and see what’s for sale at the Medieval Market, hear merchants trading at the Tome Stone, and escape from the enemy as the Civil War reaches the town! You can also explore the more genteel 18th century, and tread the boards with John Gray’s Beggar’s Opera.
