On this beach, a section of the coast accommodates a small and cozy beach flanked by rocky walls, heavily eroded. A scenic and huge boulder marks the central line of the beach and cuts the horizon. The cliff line remains high along the entire length of the beach; Access to the beach is via a hand-dug tunnel, where marine fossils can be seen. And someone also excavated not only the tunnel, but several archs and even a comfortable space for a bar, in the middle of the cliff. ----- Nesta praia, um recorte anguloso da costa acomoda no seu interior um pequeno e acolhedor areal ladeado por paredes rochosas ocres, muito trabalhadas pela erosão. Um cénico e enorme leixão marca a linha central da praia e corta o horizonte. A linha de arriba mantém-se alta em toda a extensão da praia; o acesso ao areal é feito através dum túnel escavado à mão, onde se observam fósseis marinhos. E alguém escavou com gosto, não só o túnel, mas vários pórticos e até um cómodo espaço para um bar, em plena arriba.

Praia do Carvalho is a rather small, yet lovely, curved bay, sheltered all around by rocks. You can access the beach from both sides; from one side, entrance is down some steep steps cut into the cliff face. On the other side, you can walk down from the car park and go down some steps cut into a tunnel in the rock.
