Surfrider Point is basically for anybody—it’s a beginner wave, but it's fun for advanced surfers too. It's one of the most crowded waves in the world and has been since the 1950s. The innermost point is called First Point, and that's generally where the longboarders are. And the outside point—Third Point—that's where mostly shortboarders go. There are a couple of shops close by along the strip that you can rent boards from and walk a couple hundred yards to the point.

Probably the most iconic Malibu surf spot and great for a traditional Malibu photo op, however, it's very shallow for surfing, despite having three breaks. Also, because it's such a die hard favorite it can attract some difficult characters. We highly recommend family's or couples looking for a more romantic time to enjoy the views from the Pier or restaurant, and spend their beach time at Corral, Paradise Cove or Zuma. Also, free street parking is usually non-existent, as folks often live in their vans there, but paid parking can be available either above or below the Pier. Again, just don't plan to park at the nearby for free at Cross Creek town center, as you'll likely get a ticket.
