USS LST 393 is an LST-1-class tank landing ship built for the United States Navy during World War II. She is one of only two LSTs to survive in original configuration; 1,051 were built. She is now a museum ship in Muskegon, Michigan.
Shipboard museum that’s well worth a visit. One mile east on the bike path. Watch the website as they often offer summertime movies and also yoga on deck!
This is excellent Veterans Museum and is a Michigan non-profit, created to restore and preserve one of the only two Landing Ship Tanks remaining from the 1,051 built during World II. Self guided tour, very accessible, interesting exhibits about WWII, D-Day history, very interesting and informative! Original training video explains the operation of the ship. Explore all the decks. Open 10 am - 5 pm seven days a week. Last tour 4:00. May 15 - Sept. 17. Prices are Adults $8.00, Students (5-17 years old) $5.00, 4 and under free. No strollers or wheelchairs. Gift shop. Fridays there are free motion pictures shown on the deck on after sunset.
