Its beautiful and historical city hall is also worth visiting. Pasadena is known for hosting the Rose Bowl football game, and the Tournament of Roses Parade. One of the best cities in Los Angeles - ten minutes away. Incredible food, incredible old school charm - true California - clean and safe. Hollywood is sort of the opposite these days. We prefer going out to eat here than driving into Hollywood. Which has it's incredible food scene too but Pasadena is just a beautiful city. Very different than Hollywood. Many restaurant recommendations here - As well as Downtown LA/Hollywood/highlandpark/Atwater/Silverlake.

Pasadena is a peaceful and lovely city in Los Angeles County, California, 11 miles (18 km) northeast of downtown Los Angeles. It is the most populous city and the primary cultural center of the San Gabriel Valley.[19] Old Pasadena is the city's original commercial district.
Old Town Pasadena has great food and shops. Be patient when looking for parking :-)
