The host is responsive and helpful when the amenities are finished. It's a fantastic place to stay at. Also it does has a dryer despite not mentioning it. Close to kyoto station and department stores.

I stayed with Junko for 4 nights and it was such a good choice!! The house is a bus ride away from Kyoto station, the bus stop is very close to the house so it’s very easily accessible. There are many good restaurants and endless things to do around the house. The house itself is beautiful, the traditional garden and rooms were amazing. The two cats were also so cute and loving! Each room has a small kitchenette with everything you need and there is a washer and dryer available. I chose to take part in a tea ceremony with Junko and it was amazing, I couldn’t recommend it enough. The tea master was very knowledgeable and kind, I was even able to practice making my own tea! Junko is so kind, she always helped me when I had a question and she made my stay feel more like a home than a hotel. I would definitely recommend this home for anyone looking for a traditional experience, out of the main city centre, with a kind host. I would love to stay with Junko again in the future!

This place is absolutely lovely, had a refrigerator which is amazing to store morning coffees (I love the 7/11 coffees) but also supplied tea and coffee with a kettle if needed. Natalie was so great for check in even though I ended up being super late because of trouble figuring out transport. There is a large hill to get up, but it's not too much of an issue as it's small. It's right near Hirakatashi station which has so many connections and the Keihan line which will get you everywhere. I had a few issues with the wifi in my room, but it was fine outside of my room so I just ended up working downstairs. Also had very easy checkout which was wonderful

Mi sono trovata molto bene nell’alloggio di Junko. In una posizione residenziale, ma facilmente raggiungibile il centro. L’alloggio era pulito e completo dei servizi igienici e anche di una piccola cucinetta. Lei è stata molto gentile ad accogliermi e a spiegarmi la casa. Il suo giardino è una meraviglia.

部屋が思った以上に広く、アメニティも充実しており、同行者からもとても好評でした。特にアメニティのタオルがふわふわで吸水力も良く、有難かったです。駅から徒歩10分の立地のため、車推奨です。近くに飲食店はありますが、少し歩きます。

Thank you Wei for hosting us at your beautiful home. Wei's house is cosy, comfortable, clean and beautiful. We have plenty of space for a family of 4. Location is very close to Toji Station, Toji temple and walkable to Aeon shopping mall.

Location: central but tucked in a more residential and quiet alley allowing for peace but also convenience. 15-20min walk to most places you want to go (gion, pontocho, sannenzaka, nishiki). Place and amenities: super clean and has everything you could possibly need (including laundry). Only callout is to be mindful of the stairs to go up to bedroom.

A beautiful traditional minka but with all mod cons - loved the interior design and the layout - perfect for a family of five with 3 separate bedrooms, a brilliant wet room and washer dryer - thank you for the warm welcome too - it was our best stay of the trip! ♥️🙏🏻♥️

Our stay at Yamashita’s beautiful 100-year-old Japanese villa in Kyoto was the perfect way to end our 2 week vacation in Japan. The house is spacious, very clean, and well-equipped, perfect for our group of 12. It has everything you need and more. It has a serene garden, jacuzzi, and sauna—the kids especially loved the jacuzzi! Yamashita is an EXCEPTIONAL host—very warm, helpful, and accommodating. She drove us to supermarkets and places we wanted to go and even picked us up for a small fee. She prepared simple yet delicious breakfasts. She was quick to respond to messages and even guided us on using local buses. Though the house is a bit far from the touristy areas, the peace and quiet of Yamashita’s home made it the perfect retreat. It offered a more authentic and relaxing experience of Japan. I highly recommend Yamashita’s villa to anyone looking for comfort, culture, and outstanding hospitality. And to anyone looking for a truly memorable stay in a traditional Japanese home.

Stayed for 2 weeks there. Residential, quiet area within several minutes walking to mass transit points (train, subway, bus). Pleasant, peaceful place, exactly as depicted on the website. Very comfortable as all the amenities are very modern. The host was very responsive; gave a tour of the house on our arrival so pretty much we felt at home straight away. The only minus was that the host supplied linens (bedding and towels) for one week only so we had to take care of washing and drying them for the second week. It took a chunk of our vacation time.

Extraordinary place! Me and my family had planned to stay for just one night and after checking in we decided to stay to extend our stay. Hope to be back someday!

Beautiful home in a traditional, cozy neighborhood. It was beautiful ly decorated and peaceful. Location is a bit outside the main city area, which made it easy to access the national parks and monuments.
