Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

This is a studio across a courtyard from the main house which is a lovely villa set in a large formal rose garden on the banks of Waikato River. There is a good sized room with queen size bed and seating area plus en suite bathroom and kitchenette, and access to a barbecue. There is a Beauty Therapy clinic on the property. I am situated23 kms north of Taupo and so within easy travelling distance to Rotorua and all the volcanic plateau sights, plus the mountains of central North Island.

Your perfect base for the Tongariro Crossing, Kōwhai Hideaway is in a convenient location near the Tongariro River. Double glazed and with upgraded insulation, Kōwhai Hideaway has a well equipped kitchenette, brand new air conditioning, comfortable beds and a pleasant garden outlook. Tranquility is supreme. There’s plenty of off street parking in this quiet street. Kōwhai Hideaway is a ground floor apartment underneath Piwakawaka Lodge. They can be rented together for large groups.

Tui Cottage - Self-contained and cosy chalet.

Tui Cottage is a cosy and private haven, with queen-sized bed & bathroom, totally separate from the main house. Tui bird song greets the day. You may be visited by Punkie, my tortoise shell quirky-tailed cat. Glimpse lake views between the trees. Tui Cottage is a non-smoking property. 5 mins walk to a local shopping centre & approximately 5 mins drive to the lakefront. Taupo is a most scenic place with many activities available & numerous tourist attractions to explore. #LOVETAUPO
