Shimogyo Ward: pousadas

Soi’s Guesthouse is a super place to stay when you’re in Kyoto! All the hosts were super helpful, giving us recommendation and even helped us out with an office for one in our company. The street is also really peaceful and quiet, but still very close to the old town. Would definitely come back!

Wir wurden gleich vor dem Haus bei unserer Ankunft erwartet und in Haus und Kyoto eingeführt. Man darf von der Unterkunft natürlich keinen Luxus erwarten, aber es hat sein Versprechen, ein traditionelles japanisches Haus zu sein, voll erfüllt, so dass wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Das Teilen des Bades mit den Besitzern war nie ein Problem, es stand uns immer zur Verfügung. Das Zimmer selbst ist sehr geräumig und ruhig. Die Gegend war Spitze, mit dem Bahnhof Katsura ist man schnell im Zentrum Kyotos und meidet dabei sogar den unübersichtlichen Hauptbahnhof in Kyoto. In der Bahnhofstrasse West (nenne es mal so) gab es ein Café, dass wir ab sieben Uhr zum Frühstücken besuchten (Oak Food). Östlich von Katsura Station gibt es eine Reihe von traditionellen Lokalen, von denen wir das 焼肉 おもに besucht haben. Hervorragendes, auf feinster Holzkohle am Tisch gegrilltes Fleisch (glaube, es heisst Yakiniku) in einem einfachen Gasthaus. Achtung, durch das Grillen ist das Lokal stark verraucht.

Nous avons bien dormi ! La literie est très agréable. Nari et Chii sont attentionnés. Seul point négatif : notre chambre était à l’étage, l’escalier est raide et la douche et les wc sont au rez de chaussée !

Super belle maison et la chambre est spacieuse avec en prime cet incroyable petit jardin très calme et apaisant. Les communs sont aussi très pratiques et fonctionnels ! Nous recommandons chaudement ce logement 🌱

We absolutely loved our stay at Tanaka-san and Machiko-san place! He picked us up from the station and was always happy to answer all our questions and help us out any time. They gave us some tea and sweets - we felt so welcomed from the very start. Machiko-san's breakfasts were so yummy - it was a treat for eyes and stomach! We only wished we could stay longer :) Thank you for giving us such an amazing Kyoto experience!

Très bel hébergement, on s'y sent comme à la maison. Yoko nousi avait même mis des fraises dans le frigos, très gentille attention de sa part. L'arrêt de bus est vraiment très près de la maison et permet de rejoindre le métro ou la gare très rapidement. Un super séjour, tout était parfait!!! Merci Yoko.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt. Die Zimmer sind sehr hübsch und das Frühstück war fantastisch! Die Lage war für uns perfekt. Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen und verabschiedet. Die Unterkunft war für uns insgesamt sehr gut, ist allerdings (nachts) hellhörig, was beim Schlafen stören kann. Es werden aber Ohropax kostenlos bereitgestellt. Vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft! A really nice traditional home to stay in, with a very cozy little seating area, and a big bath for two. The futons were more comfortable than most places we’ve stayed at. The host and staff are all really nice, and the location is pretty spot on, easy to get to Gion either walking or by bus for example. Overall, loved it, would definitely come and stay there again
