The owners’ grounds cover five acres and guests are welcome to explore the luscious green lawns, woodland footpaths and paddocks at their leisure. Dogs must be kept on a lead when in the paddocks as sheep and chickens graze here. To the far left of Orchard Lodge lies a well-maintained communal garden with a wooden table and chairs, a parasol and three sun loungers which guests are welcome to use. There is also a summer house with two large sofas and a cosy wood burning stove which is shared with B&B guests from Orchard Lodge. Off-street parking for two cars is available at the front of the property.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Set above the River Isbourne, Winchcombe is arguably the hidden jewel in the Cotswolds crown. The town became prosperous from its Abbey (one of the largest Benedictine monasteries in England), its wool trade and as a producer of tobacco. Although the Abbey has gone there is still much to see of historic Winchcombe and the wealth of the town is reflected in many of the buildings, as well as in the surrounding countryside. No visit to Winchcombe would be complete without seeing four of the most prestigious historical sites in the area. Sudeley Castle (home of Queen Katherine Parr up to her death in 1548), Hailes Abbey (a Cistercian House founded in 1246 and owned by English Heritage), Stanway House (a Jacobean manor house with a world-famous fountain) and Belas Knap (a Neolithic long barrow dating from approximately 3800 BC) all offer a fascinating insight into the life of our ancestors. Known as the walking capital of the Cotswolds, Winchcombe sits at the intersection of the Cotswold Way, the Gloucestershire Way, the Wardens Way, the Windrush Way and the new Winchcombe Way. Alternatively, the GWR Steam Railway provides a fantastic fun day out for the family, running from Toddington through Winchcombe to Cheltenham Racecourse. Winchcombe has a mouthwatering selection of top quality restaurants, a wine bar, pubs, tea shops and a contemporary delicatessen/coffee shop. So whether you want a quick snack or a leisurely meal you'll be spoilt for choice. With a vibrant Music & Arts Festival in May/June, a Country Show in August and a Christmas Festival in December, Winchcombe also has a busy cultural calendar. Food & Drink Winchcombe is fortunate to be blessed with a variety of places to eat and drink, with the following being just a selection of the options available: Restaurant 5 North Street (www.5northstreetrestaurant.co.uk): A small family run Michelin starred restaurant. The cooking at North Street brings together the elements of traditional British cooking with the more sophisticated ingredients and techniques of classic French cuisine; Wesley House (www.wesleyhouse.co.uk): Set in a 15th century Merchant's House, Wesley House's restaurant has been awarded an AA two star rosette and has developed a reputation for excellent food, elegant surroundings and exemplary service. The vibrant Wine Bar & Grill offers a lively atmosphere, with an extensive cellar and delicious dishes in a relaxed setting; Wine and Sausage at The White Hart Inn (http://wineandsausage.whitehartwinchcombe.co.uk): The White Hart Inn is a charming 16th Century inn, with the Wine & Sausage Restaurant at its heart. Open daily for breakfast, morning coffee & cakes, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and bar snacks.

Welcome to Pye Corner Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Pye Corner Cottage is a beautiful, grade II listed, thatched cottage, peacefully located on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds village of Broadway, which is often referred to as the "Jewel of the Cotswolds" and the "Show Village of England". Broadway is well known for its excellent art galleries, as well as its restaurants, pubs and gift shops. The village is also perfectly placed for exploring the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds and the Vale of Evesham, as well as Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Pye Corner Cottage is accessed from the garden, via its back door, which leads into the large kitchen. The following rooms are on the ground floor: Living room: a large room, with beautiful old oak beams, exposed Cotswold stone and a wooden floor. Contains comfy seating for five and a flatscreen TV with DVD player; Kitchen/dining room: another large room, with wooden beams and a tiled floor, the kitchen contains an electric fan oven and grill, four ring gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge freezer. There is also a wooden dining table with seating for six; Utility room: A spacious utility space, with a washing machine and a wash basin; Downstairs cloakroom: contains a toilet. Stairs lead up from the living room to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 1: Contains a king size bed; Bedroom 2: Contains two single beds; Bedroom 3: Contains a single bed. Family bathroom: Contains a bath with separate shower, toilet and wash basin. Pye Corner Cottage's large enclosed garden is to the rear of the property, with beautiful rural views. The garden is mostly laid to lawn and contains an outdoor table and seating for five, plus a charcoal barbecue during the warmer months of the year. There is a pond in the garden, as well as a Bramley apple tree and a Victoria plum tree, which guests are welcome to use. To the rear of the garden is an off-street parking area, with space for a number of cars to park.
Broadway is a beautiful village in the North Cotswolds, steeped in history and surrounded by stunning countryside. The village gets its name from the wide street, or broad way, that runs through the centre which was once the main road from Worcester to London. This attractive High Street is bordered with chestnut trees and honey coloured stone cottages dating from the 16th century and is one of the most picturesque villages of the Cotswolds. The broad way is thought to be especially wide because at one time there used to be streams running each side of the main drive. These streams were eventually hidden in underground pipes where they would emerge at 'dipping' points, but sadly they are now almost completely invisible.

The Monk’s Retreat is a unique, charming and peaceful cottage adjacent to the farmhouse with the bedroom balcony overlooking the sitting room evoking images of a hayloft. Tastefully furnished with antiques to compliment the modern amenities. There is a gas cooker and dishwasher in the quirky kitchen that in days gone by was used to press the grapes for our home made wine, the terrace overlooks our baby vineyard! (Please aware there are stone steps to get to the cottage.)
There is a terrace within the large gardens that is solely for you but you’re welcome to explore the garden.

Obrigado.
