From start to finish we all loved our stay in the cottage. Lovely surroundings, very peaceful and extremely clean. Could not fault anything and would like to return again someday. I would love to know where the mattresses were from, I slept in 2 beds and woke up without a bad back!

John and Dan were fantastic hosts, with great communication from booking all the way until we left. Very accommodating and anything we asked and responses within a minute or two when we messaged. The pictures don’t do the place justice in my opinion. It’s always a great feeling when you feel you are getting more than you thought..and that’s how we felt. The linen was amazing, they didn’t cut corners with the type of linen in all rooms. Each room had its own theme which gave a lovely experience. The garden and view of the woods and river was just lovely..really adds to the hot tub experience. Overall, I highly recommend this place and I cannot fault the hosts on anything..thanks John and Dan

Fabulous stay here at Easter everything about the house exactly as described. Margaret kept in touch along the way and check-in was easy just as explained. Plenty of space for 5 guests and extra bonus the hot tub. Downside though due to location, tried to order a takeaway using one of the leaflets in the house but when rang them they said they didn’t deliver that far. So take along plenty of provisions!!!

Beautiful little village, so peaceful and relaxing. Lots of lovely walks & great play area for kids. The house was lovely, well presented and the hot tub was an added bonus. The kitchen had an air fryer & toastie machine which is a great addition for families trying to make quick and easy meals. We loved our stay. The play park was fantastic with play area for young & older kids, bmx ramp & basketball court.

We loved our stay. The house (Byre) is beautiful and far more spacious than photos give credit for. Added bonus for us, wheelchair accessable from patio doors into kitchen/dinning/lounge area. Wheelchair accessible into downstairs bathroom/shower and bedroom. There is a shower stool in cupboard next to bathroom. The upstairs landing area has a cosy couch/snug between bedrooms and upstairs toilet/Shower room. Beautiful scenory surrounding Cottages and we all completely felt at home and relaxed instantly. House very clean and fresh. Stranraer in walking distance with pavement at road end of cottages. Lovely walking options around cottages. Kitchen comes very well equipped and decent sized fridge freezer. We look forward to returning.

Great house for our family Christmas, really spacious for the 7 of us, has everything you need , Craig is a great host very friendly and quickly responded to any messages, was the perfect house for what we needed.

We had a great time staying. Carolines house is lovely and had everything we needed for a long weekend. Throughout our stay there was a problem with hot tub which was out of Caroline's hands but she made sure to compensate with a meal on her which was very much appreciated. Lots of lovely little touches and gifts around the house. Would definitely come back and see this place in the warmer weather thanks for having us.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. The Mill is absolutely stunning - the photos don’t do it justice at all. It is beautifully put together with a well equipped kitchen, smart decor and so many interesting bits and pieces to give interest. There was such care and consideration given to making sure all needs were catered for from the toys and books to the extensive CD and DVD collection. The grounds are breathtaking and it would be easy to go nowhere else. We were very well looked after and enjoyed the sauna, hot tub and a campfire. This is the perfect place for a family to find peace and reset. Walking up to the birds and the sounds of the waterfall was like a detox. We petted donkeys, saw bee hives, looked for fish and paddled in the water. Our children are already planning a further stay. Exceptional value for money and just beautiful. Thank you Lorraine and the wonderful Arjun for looking after us so well.

Perfect location if your wanting to wind down from a busy week at work, cabin was lovely especially the hot-tub and morning view, Darren was an overall great host would certainly recommend.

Great place and beautiful walks around. Log cabin was spotless and really nice to relax in the hot tub after a long walk. staff very friendly and responsive the only downside beeing the bed.... not comfortable and the pillows are really hard. we've asked for a matress topper and the staff was prompt providing it but unfortunately didn't made much difference. 10 out of 10 for the staff and the way the manage the holiday park! 100% recommend visiting Galloway Smokehouse and red deer range

I booked this for my partners birthday weekend away and we came with our dog for 2 nights at the end of Mar. Ellie was a great host, she was quick and easy to communicate with and made sure we all felt welcome and even decorated the lodge for my partners bday. We had a wonderful time, the lodge was well equipped and cosy, the hot tub was perfect especially at night and the area was very peaceful with some stunning views so all in all just what we needed. We really enjoyed our time here and my partner loved it for her birthday weekend away - we would be looking to come back in the future. I would highly recommend this lodge for anyone who is looking to book. P.s we decided to tackle Scafell pike which was around 25mins away - do not recommend doing on a wet and windy day as I thought i was going to die

A 1,000 characters isn't enough to describe how magical this place was. It was so peaceful & serene, it is the ideal place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of life. You could sit and watch the view for hours and not get bored. The facilities were more than enough, no issues with solar power despite charging phones often/using the lights. The shower is luxurious and the toilet feels the same as a regular one! Emma was responsive & friendly, if we needed her at any point I would've been comfortable messaging. I didnt though as everything was perfect. I fell in love with the interior and all the gorgeous details, we enjoyed some board games and books too. Having a visit from Rocket was lovely, she was so friendly and well behaved! We will definitely be back here - the journey is easy even if you don't drive. Rob was nice enough to pick us up from the station on our way there, however the bus is reliable and takes you right to the door step. I can't wait until next time :-)

A peaceful getaway, which was what we wanted. Cabin was spotless and had what we needed and the view was stunning. Hosts were friendly and approachable. Highly recommend!

We had an absolute peaceful stay at this stunning wigwam. The location is perfect & the wigwam is kitted out with everything you will need. The hot tub was amazing & the hosts couldn’t be anymore helpful! We cannot wait to come back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Knows lodge is exactly how Tracy decried it, it has spectacular views, is peaceful and beautiful throughout. Tracy and Philip have done a wonderful job creating This beautiful piece of heaven. Me and my partner loved sitting in the chair taking in the scenery. The Wood fired hit tub was new to us but once we grasped it, it was simply stunning. Knowe lodge has everything you could need. We popped into Wigtown which Philip informed us about (Philip is extremely lively and can tell you everything you need to know) and enjoyed looking through the many book stores, we had coffee and cake at reading lasses charge which was incredible then drove to visit the red deer and wild goats. We can’t wait to go back to Knowe lodge, we didn’t want to leave. Thankyou Tracy and Philip
