What a delightful retreat! There were several times coming up the road, however, I thought I had missed a turn. Directions should say, keep going, then go some more, and then go even further. But once found and inside, it was heavenly. Comfortable furnishings. And the book explaining how the cabin was renovated was entertaining and educational. It was a terrific way to introduce Hallie & Mark. I got so much done on my book when I wasn’t staring at hummingbirds, listening to owls, or looking for shooting stars. And if there had been a chaise lounge on that balcony, I doubt I’d have gotten anything done! (Hint, hint.) thank you so much for a delightful stay!

Stayed during Helene - hosts were gracious and patient. This place was an excellent place to hunker down in a hurricane! Beautifully decorated and had everything we needed!

What a gem! Great house with plenty of space and all the nice modern touches that made our getaway weekend lovely. Tucked on a quiet street with easy walkability to the downtown area. Best part was the beautiful backyard. Would definitely come back!

Beautiful views, very clean, spacious, and everything you could need was provided. We had a great Christmas spent in this home! I had brought a very small tree to enjoy but we were so excited to see a huge beautiful Christmas tree light in the living room when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked, the house was spotless, and the Yonder team was always responsive to any questions I had. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet private stay! There isn’t much surrounding the area, even stores are a little drive but we enjoyed!

We had a wonderful visit. The home was clean and spacious. We had 8 guests and there was enough room for all of us. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous. Great Mountain View’s and a beautiful stream. Everyone enjoyed Nacho the donkey and Miss Betty the horse. They loved feeding them apples and carrots!! We will definitely visit again. Thank you Gustavo and Isabel for hosting.

Loved our stay here! Having a bathroom with every bedroom was great for our group. Tons of fridge space, large living area. It really is a perfect spot for a group! It is very quiet and pretty private. There is another house up the hill but it’s plenty far enough away that you can’t see or hear anyone there. Not much around, but we did have dinner at J Hartman’s about 20min away and we highly recommend it. We would definitely stay here again!

My partner and I stayed as our first little family getaway with our 1 year old. The three of us loved the cabin and the seclusion. The yard was hillier than I thought and the second bedroom didn’t have a door but we had zero complaints. Highly recommend.

Very nostalgic and classic feel to the home, amenities were as described. Host was responsive and friendly, where we felt right at home.

great campground area, perfect place to take the family!

Blin's place was spotless, comfortable and the view was stunning - Fall leaves were in full color while we were there. The bathrooms were spacious and clean - the water was hot with good pressure. The king bed in the master was supportive and comfortable. I heard no complaints about the bunk room beds the kids used. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, bowls and cooking utensils. All appliances worked well. It was muddy while we were there so we rolled up the light colored rugs so we didn't accidentally stain them. We had our dog with us and there was plenty of area for him to run and the streets were quiet for a walk along the road. There are steps all the way to the water which will be amazing for lake access in the summer. As it was cold while we were there and the lake was still recovering from Hurrican Helene, we did not get in the water. All in all it was a great place to stay.

My stay here was amazing! Emily and Tommy were able to accommodate an early check in which was so helpful! Not only that, they were both very sweet and welcoming! Made you feel right at home, and also were super helpful with any questions I had. ☺️ The pool was beautiful and so much fun! The floats, toys, and games they provide were so fun to use! Also honorable mention ! the KITTY! The kitty might have been my favorite thing about the stay 😉 ! The inside was decorated so beautifully (i’m taking inspo so I can decorate for my apartment!) so cozy and relaxing! The fire pit was amazing! I would love to stay here again. ☺️ thank you so much Tommy & Emily! Also check in and check out were super easy.

It’s a very cute, we definitely want to come back and stay longer than 1 night. Grounds were very clean and people were very friendly.

Our stay at TRR was a great experience. The place was spacious, very clean, nicely decorated, and conveniently located to downtown. The amenities were super… big refrigerator, covered carport at the door, puffy soft bath towels, gas fireplace, large bathroom, and many personal touches that made us feel at home. Thank you Ashley, and we look forward to returning next year!

This was our first time to Lake James and we are definitely coming back! The house was absolutely beautiful and perfect for our needs. It was very clean and had everything in great supply. Like others have written, the house is bigger than the pics let on. Susan was proactive with making sure we had the address, codes, etc before we arrived and very responsive if we had a question. All in all, it was a great time with the family!

Simply put it was awesome. Small things add up. S’mores the record player good pans. The entire family enjoyed this place. The lake in the back private and nice walking trail is great. Too much to list of how great it is. Hot tub was great. Each level of the house has a bath room. The scents throughout the house was a good touch. The community is really nice was able to canoe and fish. The food she recommended was awesome good touch of home at countryside BBQ. If you are looking to relax and distress this is it. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Memories for a lifetime.

Laura is an amazing host! Very responsive. The home is beautifully appointed with lovely details and felt very homey for us and our 2 pups. Super quiet and private. Although I knew it was up a gravel hill/road, and secluded, I was not aware of how narrow the road would be and how long it would take from the main road to the home. It is the last home at the very top, so for my anxious self, that was a challenge, but the home itself was wonderful as was Laura as a host! My partner Brian did have an incident where he had to back up 200 yards on this narrow dirt road to allow one of the neighbors to get down the road as she gestured she did not feel safe to pass him- so just things to be aware of. Thankfully he did all the driving and handled it with ease. :) Given they are still working on some of the roads up to the home post Helene, it just adds a bit more time to get from the house into downtown Black Mountain or Asheville. Again, nothing absurd, just something to be aware of.

Tamara and Marc were so welcoming and had everything set up for the most amazing experience. There was not one detail left un attended to. They went above and WAY beyond with supplies and amazing treats. For a very small price Tamara prepared the most amazing picnic for us that we had by the creek. We spent hours down there with our pup. The nature and surroundings as well as the beautiful Forrest cabin in the trees were only exceeded by their gracious hospitality. This was an amazing experience and we can’t wait to return. Thank you Tamara and Marc!!!!

We loved our stay at Trails End cabin. Was in town for the lake james 5k, and the home was walkable to the Fonta Flora brewery via the trails that leads to the Overmountain Victory trail in the backyard.... huge bonus and why I picked this home! Very private and my dogs loved wandering in the yard where we could feel that we're safe. Will definitely be back again!

Do not think twice about this cabin rental. The home is absolutely perfect! The kitchen has everything you need (spices, oil, tools, space, keurig, drip, all the things you hope it will have when you show up) The couch is incredibly comfortable. The beds too are amazing. Main bathroom has a very modern shower and toilet. But most of all the deck and the view are worth every penny. We spent most of our time reading and drinking coffee from the chairs on the deck. And it was so peaceful and relaxing. We had a brief issue with a power outage but a) they have a generator that automatically turned on and b) the owner was proactively communicative to let us know and kept tabs that we were okay and when the power went back on. Wish we could have stayed longer. Rent it for a day or two longer because you won’t want to leave. Thank you to Susie and the team who hosted us, we had exactly the trip we needed

Christy was very responsive and accommodating when we asked for an early check-in. The back yard was great for the pup to run around! We had some questions about the fire-pit instructions, which she was happy to help us trouble-shoot. Her kitchen utensils for cooking were top of the line, had everything we needed! Would definitely recommend and would stay again, especially for the fur-babies!

Loved the house, especially the side porch great place to go sit and have coffee. The sound of the creek made me want to stay outside the whole entire time. Can’t wait to go back!

We got to live through Hurricane Helene while staying at the cabin. It was a surreal experience. We learned that the community residents in Big Ridge are very friendly and helpful. All the neighbors came together to help each other and received us with open arms and helped us in every way they could. The roads were cleared of debris quickly and we were able to get home within a few days of the storm passing. The property owners checked on us as soon as they could and were as well extremely accommodating. Despite the difficulty experience, I would return to this cabin in the future for sure. The cabin has all the essential you would expect and it’s a great value. It’s perfect for hikes in the Black Mountains, such as Mt. Mitchell.

High quality, 100% cotton linens which are hard to find. I’ve grown accustomed to carry my own when I travel now and I didn’t have to change the sheets upon arrival! Cosy and lovely location. We didn’t walk to DT Burnsville because it was so cold, but lots of locals walking dogs etc. I’m in love with Burnsville NC and will be returning regularly. This place feels like home.
