Douro River: acomodações em fazendas

This was by far one of the best Airbnbs we've ever stayed at! The house is charming , much bigger than the pictures show, clean and perfectly equipped for a comfortable stay. We did not want to leave. The grounds and pool are well kept and the views are amazing. The hospitality of the hosts impressed us, very responsive and helpful. Don't think twice, book this place for an amazing vacation!

My stay at Quinta das Águias was truly unforgettable. The Peacock Cottage looks exactly like the photos, with large windows that offer views of the surrounding nature and animals—even from inside. Most of the farm’s five hectares are open for guests to explore, and wandering through the grounds is a peaceful experience in itself. But what really made my visit special were the animals. Many are incredibly friendly and love interacting with visitors—I’ve never received so much affection from cats in my life! I left feeling recharged, grateful, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. The energy of the place, with its serene nature and warm-hearted animals, is simply magical.

un lugar hermoso, para desconectarse de todo, la cabaña es muy linda, tiene una vista preciosa, el desayuno es perfecto y lo mejor del lugar, la atención, se esfuerzan por hacer de tu experiencia algo memorable

Wir waren zwar nur einen Tag auf der Durchreise in der Unterkunft, haben uns aber gleich sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage ist super ruhig und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Die Wohnung ist toll ausgestattet und lässz keine Wünsche offen. Die Kommunikation mit Fady war auch super, da die Unterkunft nicht direkt über Google einfach zu finden ist. Die Anweisungen haben dann sehr geholfen. Wir würden immer wieder diese Unterkunft wählen und können sie wärmstens empfehlen!

We stayed for 4 nights at this peaceful and secluded farmhouse, visiting friends in neighbouring Castelo Branco. Rogério was there to meet us after an 8 hour drive from Southern Spain with a welcoming drink and home made pastries and he spent 45 minutes explaining about the location and its history; he really is super friendly. The house truly is a home from home filled with his treasures, games and even a keyboard. As mentioned in other reviews the dog did bark constantly but Rogerio had already flagged this and offered to move him. we used the house only as a base however and he did not unduly bother us. It was a great stay and we made full use of the wood burning fire which kept the house cosy and warm however it did smoke a bit leaving everything we owned with a memorable dour of woodsmoke. It’s great value and our friends who live in the area visited one evening and fell in love with its rustic charm, they are going to book a couple of nights for themselves in the summer.

Beautiful spot with private pool and lots of space to enjoy the sunshine. Really peaceful location with amazing restaurant attached, which I recommend visiting. Isabel was hugely responsive and incredibly helpful throughout. Highly recommend a visit!

La casa es tal y como aparece en las fotos, todo estaba limpísimo y la zona está cerca de las playas de Leiria y Pedrogão, a 40 minutos de Nazaré y un poquito más de Peniche. Matas Nacional está a escasos 10 minutos por lo que si te gusta la bici o hacer senderismo, es un sitio perfecto. La comunicación con Nicole e Isabel ha sido perfecta en todo momento, a tantas y siempre facilitando y resolviendo cualquier duda o consulta. Un placer hospedarnos en su casa unos días.

Magical spot. We had a beautiful stay in this gorgeous place. Henrique is very warm welcoming and couldn’t be a nicer and more helpful host. We loved this place and in March we arrived to the fire lit for us and it was so cosy. The children loved the dogs and having freedom to explore the land and games room! It’s simple but has what you need and was perfect for us. sublime views. We will be back.

Wir haben die Unterkunft von Rita für einen Firmenausflug gebucht und für uns könnte es keinen besseren Ort geben. Hier hat sich die Arbeit einfach nur wie Urlaub angefühlt. Das Haus ist einfach nur wunderbar und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Rita ist auch super nett und wir werden definitiv wieder kommen.

A casa é lindíssima e muito espaçosas, tem muitas atividades como jogos de tabuleiro e cartas, perfeitas para jogar com a família especialmente se tiver filhos, por não ter vizinhos e ser situada num sitio muito belo e pacato é ótima para relaxar e aproveitar a natureza

Nós adoramos a estadia, a casa era bonita e acolhedora. Tinha imensa lenha para nos mantermos quentinhos na sala. A cozinha era moderna. Só tenho 2 coisas a apontar: - tinha todos os amenities necessários à exceção de um esfregão para lavar a loiça. - a placa do forno não estava bem lavada (nós deixamo-la mais limpa do que a encontramos) Por fim, deixo a sugestão ao anfitrião que o espaço exterior tem imenso potencial e poderia ser melhor utilizado como por exemplo com uma piscina, especialmente nos meses mais quentes.

Casa muito acolhedora e com tudo o que é preciso para passar uns dias em família ou com amigos. Recomendo totalmente.

Hemos ido 5 parejas (10 personas) a pasar un fin de semana y lo hemos pasado muy bien. En principio íbamos a ser 12 pero dos no han podido ir y creo que, -si bien espacio había y hubiésemos entrado-, para 10 personas la casa esta bien, tal vez los 12 hubiésemos estado un pelín más apretados. La casa es muy bonita en un entorno muy natural, tranquilo y con privacidad. Aunque el clima no nos acompañó mucho hemos disfrutado la galería, la chimenea y la casa en sí. Las camas eran cómodas, las vistas bellísimas. Lo único que hemos sugerido a Javier es que la nevera demora un poco en enfriar bien (cuando la regulas), y que nos hemos quedado sin agua caliente cuando nos dimos la ducha varios. Creemos que en verano con la piscina sería un disfrute total. ¡De seguro volveremos!

This home is absolutely beautiful, we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. Everything we could possibly need was there, from a fully equipped kitchen to thoughtful touches throughout the house and garden. It was spotless, and we especially appreciated the fresh citrus and eggs from the birds next to the property waiting for us. Carolina and her husband are exceptional hosts, warm, generous, and incredibly helpful. All their recommendations were perfect. Do note that a car is essential, and confident driving is a must in the area. The game room with the pool table was a great bonus, especially on rainy days. The nature, the views, and the garden were all stunning. Our only regret was not staying longer.

Foi a segunda vez que escolhemos este espaço e foi excelente! Sentimo-nos em casa! Usufruir de tanta natureza e animais, da calma e do conforto! É sem dúvida um local muito bom para descansar e para bons momentos sozinha ou em família! De certeza que iremos voltar! E a Susana é muito simpática e prestável! Gostámos muito!

I had an incredible stay with my family. Beautiful views and well designed property. I wish I could have stayed longer. Florbela was very helpful throughout our stay and I hope to go back soon!

We absolutely loved staying here. Ricardo was super friendly and helpful. Quinta Freiera is a stunning farm with loads of grape vines, lemon trees, orange trees, passion fruit, etc. It was so special to stay in a house that has been in his family for over 200 years. I highly recommend this quinta!

Nuestra casita fue Alambique, coincidía perfectamente con la descripción, todas las comodidades ne eso; la cama muy confortable; chimenea, aseo y un baño completo, dos TV…la ubicación muy bonita y tranquila. Sin duda súper recomendable.

What an incredible stay we had! Francisco and family were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. As others have said, he even brought us fresh bread in the morning, which we combined with local cheese, jam, and a nice Nespresso coffee. All very good but really it was the breakfast setting that made it amazing. Essentially you’re sitting out on a terrace in the sky overlooking the vineyards and the Vale de Mendiz. Stunning! Everywhere you go is a picture taking. The colours in the valley view are constantly changing with the light. Francisco also made recommendations which were very enjoyable outings, e.g. beautiful Casa de Mateus (we had lunch at Bistro Palcio just outside the main gate, try it), winery Quinta de São Luiz (Francisco’s son João recommendation), Pinhão for Douro river boat tour (the drive there along the valley is incredible). Must not forget the family’s happy-go-lucky long haired dachshund Pappy. What a cutie! Merci beaucoup Francisco! Gary & Suzie

Gostamos muito da estadia, a casa está localizada numa zona muito tranquila e perto de zonas para percursos a pé e de restaurantes a poucos minutos de carro. Fomos com a nossa mascote de 4 patas e foi optimo, a casa tem imenso espaço exterior para ela correr e brincar e muito perto, localizam-se trilhos da Ecopista do Vouga. O António foi muito prestável e atento. A sua mãe, a Dona Gina, simplesmente fantástica. Muito preocupada para que não nos faltasse nada no conforto da casa e ainda teve a amabilidade de nos presentear com uns docinhos regionais muito bons. Certamente que voltaremos à Casa do Professor!

Cannot say enough about this place, its everything it says and lots more. The ladies that service the property along with preparing breakfasts were simply awesome. Aurora's chocolate cake was a hit, and we had it for dessert and breakfast! The location and views are postcard perfect and that comes with some nervous driving to get there, but once you know the quirks really not that bad, just be careful. Highly recommending this to friends that are planning a trip to this beautiful part of the world.

La casa es espectacular. Un espacio privado para relajarse y disfrutar de la naturaleza. la finca y la casa están cuidadas hasta el más mínimo detalle. Rui contesta muy rápido, pone facilidades y recomienda productos de la zona y visitas culturales.

Estadia 5 estrelas. Casa moderna, confortável e agradável, com um espaço exterior muito bem cuidado, com piscina, jacuzzi, ginásio e o som relaxante da água a correr e o som dos pássaros. A Ana e o Paulo foram muito prestáveis.

What a fabulous place! We absolutley enjoyed our time here and will look to visit again. Loved the space around the property and the views all of which made it very private and exclusive. Anibal responded quickly to questions and is a great host!
