Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, its Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. Barleydean Suite is situated in a private annex in a country house. At the edge of the Pentland Hills, you can hike from your front door, wander to the local pub or take a bus to Edinburgh. The suite has private access for guests. It has 1 bedroom with a super king-size bed for 2 guests. Up to 2 foldaway single beds can be provided on request. Maximum occupancy is 4 people. There is a kitchenette suitable for light cooking, with hob, microwave, Nespresso, toaster, and washing machine.

Mary Queen of Scot's chamber at Neidpath Castle is perhaps the most romantic place to stay in the Scottish Borders. Explore privately the whole castle and then retire to enjoy your suite rooms. The antique four poster bed, deep roll top bath and open fire evoke earlier times, but are truly comfortable and luxurious. An elegant table is set for breakfast. Peebles is 10 minutes walk away, with a host of shops and restaurants, as well as a museum and award winning chocolatier.

Relax in a modern home on our 20 hectare (50 acre) working organic farm just a few miles south of the Edinburgh city bypass. The apartment includes 3 rooms with a private external entrance and a locked internal door if needed. The single bedroom is ensuite; the other main room is a living space with a kitchenette and large sofa bed. We are close to the route south / north too and from Edinburgh but far enough away (1.5km) to not get interrupted by road / traffic noise.

Nearby, you’ll find Dalkeith Country Park (just 0.8 miles away) for scenic walks and adventure, plus Portobello Beach (5.4 miles), perfect for a seaside escape. This 19th century cottage attached to our family home is a unique find, tucked away and peaceful, but just a short walk to the historic city centre. Perfect for exploring! With a super comfortable bed and a working wood burning stove you'll be nice and cosy. There's loads of board games and books if you want a quiet night in. My parents who live next door are available for tips on Edinburgh, or we can leave you in peace if you prefer!
