With only a short 3 minute walk to the town centre and an even shorter walk to see the famous Robert Burns house and Burns Mausoleum - The final resting place of our beloved poet. If none of those interest you, you could climb Criffel hill, visit Mabie forest to enjoy its vast choice of walks and 7 stanes mountain biking trails, or just enjoy a peaceful walk by the river in Dock park. Plenty of shops and bars.

Nestled in a secluded glen surrounded by mountains and forest, comfortable family holiday accommodation in a detached cottage. Close to the Galloway Forest park, an excellent base for walking, mountain biking and star gazing due to the dark skies. The famous Southern Upland Way walking route is accessible on foot from the cottage along with other beautiful hill walking, including some impressive peaks with breathtaking views. Streams and pools nearby for paddling and wild swimming adventures.

You can explore beautiful beaches, great small towns, rolling hills or just enjoy looking out the window. You'll hear owls, see hares and red kites and get a taste of this undiscovered corner of Scotland.

The Kennels is an adorable one bedroom cottage that has been newly refurbished. Nestled in our private estate The Kennels offers comfortable and stylish accommodation. It is equipped with a log burner and Everhot oven. Outside, beyond the patio with fire pit, is a private enclosed garden, beyond this, there is a woodland with bubbling burn (stream) and the estate grounds. The Steading at Nabny, a peaceful country escape

The Steading is a beautiful two-bedroom cottage with a sitting room/fully equipped kitchen log stove, in a tranquil setting surrounded by beautiful countryside, a short drive from Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas. Fully equipped with linen, crockery, cutlery, and a washer/dryer/dishwasher. Two wet rooms/bathrooms, two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. We welcome 1-2well-behaved dogs, but they must be on a lead whenever outside.

Red squirrel, deer, kingfisher, woodpecker, red kite, buzzard and otter are just a few of the local visitors spotted from our garden.
