We had a great stay at The Fern with our two dogs. The secure garden with hot tub was very private and the fields on the site were perfect for our dogs to run around. We loved the puzzle box! Having an EV charger on site was a great feature too, that we made good use of. The space downstairs was very generous and well equipped. The bed upstairs was huge and the view from the window across the site was fantastic, especially at sunrise. Nigel was very friendly and responsive, providing lots of local info for things to do. Thank you for a fab stay!

John was a welcoming host and his house was perfect. Clean on arrival, lovely and warm, and a safe enclosed garden. John had the hot tub warm, ready to use on arrival which was a luxury compared to needing to wait at some places. The house had all the amenities we needed and was a lovely place to stay.

A perfect relaxing stay at Lizzy’s Cottage, very clean, quiet, serene and Harrison was a really responsive and helpful host. Lots of lovely little touches around the cottage. Would highly recommend!

What a lovely few days at Rose Cottage with our family. Rodalyn was the perfect host, friendly, helpful and accommodating. On arrival we were welcomed with a thoughtful hamper of treats which the kids loved, the private “garden” is HUGE & was great for the children and our dog to explore, we loved the hot tub, outdoor speakers & lights. The full bookshelf and games in the Cottage were great to keep the kids entertained in the evening too. Also, thanks Rodalyn for the walk recommendation which we all enjoyed. Hope to be back again soon.

I can not recommend highly enough. My son and myself stayed for 3 nights, everything was exactly as described. We felt instantly at home. We shall be returning, many thanks for having us in your lovely lodge.

Peaceful, relaxing, removed but not remote, 40 minutes but home but felt like a proper little holiday. There were instructions on how to care for the property so you don't damage anything, and recommendations for places to go / things to see. I'd suggest my own for future visitors, Maxey's Farm Shop. This was a lovely place as a home base for adventures and relaxing afterwards, we will be bearing it in mind for future short breaks.

Home from a 1 night stay with my partner for his birthday and our 1 year old. The cottage is beautiful and so homely. Gorgeous interiors as if from Pinterest. very clean throughout. The hosts kindly accommodated a slightly earlier check in. Cot and linen provided for the baby. The bed is super comfy. Hot tub very clean and private garden is lovely, with a little fish pond which our daughter loved to watch. Ideal location for a relaxed stay with an excellent pub a couple minutes away.

This is a great base to explore Lincoln, Newark and Sherwood Forest. Lots of walks and history in the area. Philip recommended 2 great pubs, Prince Rupert in Newark and Hare & Hounds in Fulbeck. We also really enjoyed the Alpacca Farm and Doddington House. Philip lives close by and came to greet us on arrival. He is very friendly and helpful. The hot tub was great and accommodation very clean.

This is one of my favourites ever! The house is just lovely. I was staying with three friends to celebrate my birthday. We felt very comfortable and at home. The house is beautifully presented and has all the amenities you could ask for. Petra our host was super friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. My only proviso is to note the house is on a very steep hill and has some steep steps to access so if your mobility is impaired it will be a challenge. We loved it and would love to come again.

The cottage was a perfect location for us. We were going to a wedding in shottle hall which was a short drive from here. Very close to the town, you can walk in about 10 minutes. It is located on a nice quiet street and as parking can be tricky in Belper there is a car park in the church opposite which was perfect. We stayed with our 1 year old and the cottage is well equipped with a high chair and travel cot and kids utensils and bowls and plates. The cottage is lovely and cosy and perfect for a small family. Also we were very grateful to arrive to a gin and tonic!

Honestly one of the most beautiful places we have stayed, we had everything we needed and more and the personalised touches were just lovely! So cosy, clean and we felt so at home - we are already planning a trip back! 🩷

Amazing value for money for what you get. Full amenities, spacious rooms throughout. Lovely outdoor area. Great host. Nice area for exploring the Peak District. Went with my toddler and had everything we needed. Overall highly recommend this stay and Carolyn as host!

The most perfect place for exploring! Wasps Nest has everything you could possibly need! The whole house is really well put together and there's lots of extra little touches, which just made our stay even better. There's an abundance of walks from the doorstep, great pubs in the village and we had glorious sunshine too! The garden is a lovely little sun trap in the morning, the perfect place to enjoy a cuppa. The house is beautifully decorated throughout, and is warm and inviting from the moment you enter. The welcome tray is such a lovely touch and very welcoming after the journey. We have already been planning when we can return!

Beautiful place with lovely views. Accommodation is great, felt right at home. Neighbours were extremely welcoming and pointed out easy access to local pubs and restaurants which were easily walked.

This was a fantastic place to stay. If I were to run an Airbnb, it would probably be a lot like this one (I mean, they had bamboo toilet paper, how much better can you get?) Mal checked me in and showed me the basics of the place. He was such a cool and laidback dude. We met up for coffee the following morning and he showed me around Skopa, the zero waste shop owned by his wife Sarah (hence the bamboo toilet paper). That was such a nice experience. I went into Skopa a couple of times after that and picked up a good stock of food. I really like the granola that I got. Anyway, the house is great, and the view from the house is great as well. I wish I stayed longer!

Fiona is a great host. The house is lovely, spacious and super clean. The bedrooms all have good size en suites which is great. Kitchen has a very cool feature which is a must see.. I won't spoil that surprise! Although on a train crossing, it is not disturbing, rater it is a unique setting.

a lovely cosy, little cottage for a long weekend away competing my horse at a local equestrian centre. the self check in and check out facilitated late arrival and early departure. It was a lovely and close refuge for us between events. many thanks to kirsty for providing such a clean and comfy cottage

Absolutely wonderful cottage – a true hidden gem! This cosy retreat had everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Warm, welcoming, and beautifully appointed, it instantly felt like home. Alicia was incredibly responsive and thoughtful, making the whole experience seamless and personal. The pub next door is a fantastic bonus – great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a lovely garden to enjoy. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind for a weekend getaway. We would 100% stay there again!

lovely stay jackie is very friendly! the cottage is sweet, and full of original historic character fitting the village... which is worth exploring then you can snuggle up by the log fire in the cosy living room! the place has all modern appliances & is great for dogs with beautiful enclosed back garden, just watch out for the main road... We'll be back soon. Bonnie loved it :) xXx

Jo’s place was perfect for our three day stay in Matlock! Restaurants and pubs were in easy walking distance and the town itself was a great starting point for day trips. The house was great for my wife and I. Bathroom worked perfectly. The bed was comfortable (I’m tall so that’s a big deal for me). We made dinner in the Kitchen and ate in the small back garden. Lovely! Jo was quick to reply to any questions we had. Highly recommend!

We have just retuned from a lovely stay in Tansley. The cottage was perfect, exactly what we were looking for. It’s very clean and cosy, with a huge bed in the main bedroom! We are a family of four, having a short break during the Easter holidays. The location of the cottage is perfect for lots of local sightseeing and walks. And the two pubs within a short walking distance were amazing! Communication was great at all times. Very helpful with ideas of where to visit within the local area. I would highly recommend and would visit again.
