Three of us stayed for 2 nights in spring while the weather was cool. The sheperd's hut is one of 3 on site - well spaced - along with several lodges all located off a gravel drive and surrounded by a large expanse of grass bordered by shrubs. The site is accessed through a substantial wooden electric gate from the main road - which makes for a very secure setting. Plus points: * well equipped - including good quality knives (in wooden block) & 2 ring induction hob * very well insulated (warm & quiet) * easy walk from Hassocks station * lovely walk to Jack & Jill windmills at top of the Downs * attractive site * remote key fob for electric gate * fresh flowers, organic tea * large towels, nice linen * good WiFi Other things: * Quite a lot of road noise from A273 during busy periods daytime * If you are over 6' tall and plan to use a single bed thene expect your feet to stick out uncovered, as the banquette & duvet are short. I would definitely stay again.

Loved the authentic eco credentials - plastic free toiletries, washing up cloth, eco friendly products. The shepherds hut was real cosy and comfy. Bore place is a wonderful spot with far more nature than I would have expected in the southeast! Chris was super friendly and helpful and this was a fabulous stay.

Beautiful little shepherd's hut in a lovely area - a perfect countryside getaway for the weekend (or longer). Huts were clean and really well insulated - would stay cozy in all weathers. Kellie was the perfect host and really helpful - would highly recommend!

molly dishwasher is in an absolutely stunning location the pictures don't do justice to how stunning this place is your surrounded by the most beautiful views in the most peaceful location, me and my family had the most amazing 2 nights staying here and the little personal touches added on top just make it that much more special, moppy is an amazing host and let the boys help feed the animals on the last night which they absolutely loved, there is another hut on site but you cant see them so you have amazing privacy. I can see why lots of people who stay here are on there 7th visit as its a place you'll want to re visit after staying. we will defiantly be back soon, thank you for an amazing stay.

My husband and I had a great stay at the Shepherds Hut. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, and relaxed with a nice Barbeque ( which was provided!). The highlight was lighting the fire pit in the evening and huddling around the flames. Kellie was super helpful, and the kitchen/ bathroom had everything we needed. We would love to come back!

I would recommend skylark to anyone looking for some peace. I went alone. I felt completely safe. I knew the farm house was close by but I also had complete privacy so i was able to fully relax. Having the fire pit was wonderful. I used it every evening and sat under the stars. I loved having my own kitchen and bathroom. Moppy was always responsive. I needed more logs and they arrived promptly. She left plenty of food in the fridge. Eggs. Bacon. Sausages. Croissant. Muesli.Milk. Butter. Good coffee etc. I didn't want fro anything at all. Moppy even took me to the train station on my return. A lovely woman and a lovely family.Thanks, Moppy

Had a great weekend. The hut is set in a quiet meadow with nice views over the countryside. The hut is cosy with a surprisingly well-stocked kitchen and a compost toilet that amazingly doesn’t smell at all! The hot outdoor shower is a few steps away the hut and is a nice touch. Indoor showers just down the hill along with fridges and charging points (USB plugs available in the hut). Bore Place is interesting and worth exploring and you can buy fresh milk and cheese produced on site from the cows. An abundance of bird life so bring binoculars. The glamping seems popular with young families so if you want complete privacy, peace and quiet then this might not be the place for you. Very good value compared with other Shepherd’s huts.

Great place to stay for a quiet couple of days, loved the hot tub. Will definitely look to return in the future.

Myself and my partner had a lovely weekend stay at The Sheep Fold. Kate and her daughter, Jessa, were very friendly, welcoming and gave us some good recommendations for things to do in the area. The hut itself is located about a 5 minute walk from their main property, which gives it a very private, remote feel. Even though the hut itself is quite cosy, it had all the facilities we needed and more. There are woods and fields that surround the property which you can explore, and we were lucky enough to see rabbits and a variety of birds in the mornings. Overall, this a great place to come if you're looking for a peaceful, rural stay, but equally a good base for exploring local castles, watersports, pubs, etc.

Nina was a wonderful host, and the cabin is cosy and gorgeous. The garden is completely private and enclosed - perfect for dogs. There was nowhere for the dog to escape. Great to be able to light a fire, felt like posh, warm glamping. Great facilities, including a gas hob, fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave.

Very cosy cabin set in spectacular nature including the beautiful forests just across a field. The cabin has everything you need for a short stay and the firepit and BBQ is fab for good weather. We also had the pleasure of nightingales singing through the evenings! A perfect escape from London. Host was very kind and helpful with both the property and local attractions.

we had a wonderful stay here for my boyfriends birthday. the hut is even better than the pictures / described, and the extra touches of breakfast and a food shop on arrival made coming via train from London feel so seamless and relaxing, with everything you need waiting for you at the hut. huge thank you again to Vicki and Miles. can't recommend this place enough!

We had a fantastic stay at Ebony's shepherd's hut, she made sure we had a very comfortable stay even getting us coal for the BBQ! Her ducks are very friendly too.

Our stay at the Shepherd’s Hut was nothing short of magical. A beautiful, secluded spot and well-appointed space. We had everything we required and Emma and John were always communicative and on hand to help with anything we needed. The local apple juice at check-in was a lovely touch. Can’t wait to come back!

The shepherd’s hut itself was excellent - very comfortable and well equipped and in a lovely peaceful and private location. There was plenty to do - from exploring the local area on foot, visiting nearby NT properties, and the coast. Would certainly recommend to friends and family!

What an amazing spot. We had the best trip away and the hosts were so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back and would recommend this spot to anyone who needs a breather and some downtime. The hut is superbly well built and the indoor pool, jacuzzi, tennis court, table tennis and other amenities make you feel like you’re in a film!

Had a super lovely time at the Goods Truck. Peaceful, very responsive hosts, brilliantly (and beautifully) designed cosy space and close to places like Whitstable & Faversham, which make great trips out. The space is very thoughtfully designed too, with a small table top oven, instead of usual obligatory microwave! and a small TV if you don't want a complete digital detox. Its private and quiet too. Matthew and Charlotte are great hosts. Accurate description on the posting. Value for money. The toilet, as described, is not in the Shepherd’s hut, but it is close, comfy and warm. The hut was cozy and very well stocked. The rows of cherry trees were stunning in bloom. We took our two cats and had a photo shoot and a picnic. For pictures, see @princessyuzumochi So glad the host shared this little slice of heaven with us. Definitely recommend!

Such a beautiful retreat - the location is simply stunning and completely quiet and away from any road noise. Hannah was always quick to respond, and the hut has everything you could need for a cozy night in. The garden was perfect for our (huge) dog too!

Lovely shepherds hut with everything you would require for a weekend. Set in a beautiful garden in the heart of Bexhill. Very comfortable bed and lovely decor.

The best air bnb I have stayed in! So much provided e.g blankets, picnic basket, fire wood. Also, the location is great. You can walk to the bus stop to get a 20 minute bus into Tunbridge Wells and there are other great countryside walks near by.

Our stay at the Owl hut was stunning. Anne-Marie was helpful, thoughtful & friendly. Anne-Marie was welcoming when we arrived & said if we needed anything at all to just ask. The Owl Hut is situated in it's own private area and we was left to our own device's. The views around the area where stunning, it was quiet & peaceful as well. The hut it's self had everything in it for our stay & was so cozy. We would highly recommend the Owl hut & we will definitely be back.

THE NEST is a gorgeous little hideaway, with absolutely everything you would need wrapped up in a beautiful and stylish bow. It has been lovingly decorated with a luxurious feel, with plenty of blankets and cushions, various options of seating inside and out, and games and plentiful art supplies for passing the evenings in front of the fire. Nicky is lovely; a truly beautiful soul. Accommodating doesn't nearly cover it - they took every consideration to make sure we had the best stay we could. We left feeling like we'd been away to stay with friends. The scenic surrounding area was perfectly still, and completely dark after sunset, with only the occasional inquiring pheasant to break the silence. We walked, foraged, picked mushrooms, played scrabble and thoroughly enjoyed our little peaceful retreat away from work, the traffic, and the command of electronic devices.
