Head out on Angles Way and follow the Waveney river valley for an idyllic countryside stroll or take a trip to the beautiful Suffolk coast, then light the fire and curl up under the beams. Featured in a host of magazines, this bucolic abode combines period features and chic, contemporary design. Ivywood cottage is medieval in age, but contemporary in design, with luxurious finishes and fine detailing. The house is in a unique rural setting and was once part of the Gawdy Hall Estate. The house sits next to a beautiful 15th century church, set within a 3 acre church yard. Glorious and plentiful Waveney Valley walks in all directions. Guests have complete privacy and run of the house, including a private garden. We respect our guest's privacy, and are on call for any advice or assistance that you may need during your visit. The cottage is a short picturesque drive from the coastal gems of Southwold and Aldeburgh. Harleston and Bungay are quintessential English towns with charming independent stores, delis, family butchers, bistro cafes, pubs, restaurants, and tea shops. It's the countryside, most people drive. Diss is the mainline station between London and Norwich and is just 15 minutes by car. Cycling is very popular and the cottage is on a regular time trial route. Buses are very reliable and the village is well serviced making it easy to hop between Suffolk and Norfolk villages. There is fabulous walking from the cottage. Located in the Waveney Valley paths such as Angles Way which follows the Waveney river valley are right on your doorstep.

The listing is an old farm cottage, joined to converted barns where we live, It’s all one property with a locked joining door. There is an outside seating area with table & parasol, plenty of parking. From here you are only 45 mins from the coast, 40 mins from the city of Norwich. 9 miles from Diss railway station. New Lidl supermarket 2 miles away in Harleston.

Self-contained accommodation overlooking the river Waveney with full kitchen, dining and lounge area (including reclining sofa, smart TV and wifi), upstairs is a double bedroom with en-suite. The stairs are very steep (see photo). Allocated parking. Bistro table and chairs outside your door, plus a bench right by the water. The Dairy @ Street Farm Barns

The Dairy is completely self-contained and located in the pretty, peaceful village of Hardwick, just 12 miles south of historic Norwich. Its conversion from a farm building (a dairy!) was completed in 2018. It is perfect for couples but, because of its space and the full-double sofa-bed in the living room, it can comfortably sleep 4. It is a a great base for walks in the surrounding countryside, visiting Norwich, the Waveney Valley, the Norfolk Broads, or the beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk coasts.

Old Post Office Stable

Old Post Office Stable sits in the heart of a conservation area on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Thorpe Abbotts is home to the 100th Bomber Group Museum. They say that the squaddies mailed their love letters back home at the Old Post Office ! 40 mins to the coast, Lowestoft, Gt Yarmouth, Southwold,, with shopping in Norwich, Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds. 10 mins drive from Diss train station with a direct line to London. The Norfolk Broads only 15 mins in the lovely market town of Beccles.

Perfect for reactive dogs. Up to two large or three medium dogs welcome (even on the bed - we provide throws). Perfect under the stars. Wonderful wood-fired hot tub available (for a fee). Wood-fired pizza oven & firepit. Emma king bed, shower & kitchen inside the hut, heated floor, washer + dryer.

The property dates back to early 19 century and has been restored to a high standard with modern finishes to make your stay comfortable at any time of year.
