Great country pub a couple of miles from the 'Shed'. It serves great food with good old Sunday roast, and enjoys an unrivalled location, with the River Jordan running sedately by and ducks happily paddling on the millpond which is edged by weeping willows. The Springhead gardens enjoy wonderful views of the Downs, with the chalk carving of George III on his mount on the hillside. If you're feeling energetic you could walk there and back (well - there anyway!). Map in the 'Shed' if you're up for it! Web: https://thespringhead.co.uk Reservations: bookings@thespringhead.co.uk

A brilliant bistro beach-side cafe. There's a roped-off parking area in the paid car park overlooking the bay which is free if you make purchases in the bistro - just ask for a ticket when ordering. Great for paddle board hire and for watching watersports in the bay. Good sand bank when the tides out which is good for hunting razor clams. Tel: 01305 774954 Web: https://billywinters.co.uk

Outstanding Italian handmade ice creams. Just a stones throw from the North Harbour and down the road from Fish 'n Fritz. We always have to have one (or two). They also do freezer packs to take away. Tempting eh? Popular so flavours vary according to demand. 51 St Mary St, Weymouth. Web: https://www.bohogelato.co.uk/weymouth

A quiet pebbled beach accessible from a car park and cafe. Drive there or walk (3 mile looping round trip) from the 'Shed'. See the map in the 'Shed'. Take a kite, or pack a picnic and watch kite-surfers when the winds are high. The water is incredibly clear and safe for bathing. Part of the Jurassic coastline, on a fine day there are great views across Weymouth Bay to Portland. If you walk up the hill from the cafe out to White Nothe, you will pass above Burning Cliff which once caught fire due its composition of oil shale and iron pyorites. 5 miles (8km) east of Weymouth with access from A353 through Upton village Paid parking by the beach.

Another nice seaside fishing village with a safe beach and charming cove. Couple of nice pubs and 'The Doll's House' also. Lots of walks along the coast to the smaller coves and rock pools but it does involve a bit of 'up and down hill'. There's a good uphill walk westwards from the car park to Durdle Door. web: https://www.visit-dorset.com/things-to-do/lulworth-cove-p807263
