Hendre Fechan Cottage is a 1616 century cottage built from traditional Welsh stone, the Welsh Tourist Board has graded it as 4 stars. It is newly refurnished in a tasteful manner, surrounded by beautiful countryside, sea views and old buildings found at the end of traditional private farm lane. Based in Tal-y-Bont, we have been welcoming guests since March 2010. This beautiful cottage is half a mile from the main road and is situated on an equestrian property in the beautiful countryside of Snowdonia National Park. It is a mile from the beautiful sandy Beaches, which you can view from the front room, bedroom and garden. The area is perfect for walking holidays with miles of footpaths starting from your front door into the surrounding hills and countryside. If you have dogs they will love it!! The busy seaside resort of Barmouth is squeezed into the small amount of habitable space between the hills and the water on the North side of the Mawddach estuary as it reaches the sea. Barmouth Map & Directions Barmouth is the start and finish of the Mawddach Way and the start (or finish) of the popular Mawddach Trail which runs along the old Barmouth to Dolgellau railway line. Barmouth has plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and ice cream parlours. It can be very quiet outside of the summer months with some of the cafes and restaurants closed, but there is always somewhere to find a meal or a snack, and some would argue that this is the best time to visit. The iconic Barmouth railway bridge, just outside of the town, is one the most photographed and instantly recognisable features in all of Wales. Bike Hire is available in the town.

Our one bedroom cottage, Tree Tops, lies in the Snowdonia National Park close to the beaches of Ardudwy, near Harlech on the west coast of Wales. Behind this coastal strip lie the Rhinog Mountains, giving marvellous choices of climbing and walking terrain. The cottage is well equipped, of contemporary design and has balcony with sea view. From 1st May to 30th September we have a Saturday changeover. October through April bookings can start on any day of the week, (minimum two nights).
This one bedroom cottage is ideal for a couple or a single person and as the name suggests, is set in the trees. From the parking area you enter the kitchen which has everything you should require for your stay; fridge/freezer, micro, toaster, oven, ceramic hob, instant hot water etc. You then move into the living area with tv/dvd and your double recliner, to the sliding door that leads you out to the balcony, where you can feed the birds, or gaze at the view across the fields to the estuary and bay. Downstairs (these are steeper than average), is the bathroom with a toilet, power shower and hand basin, then into the bedroom where there is a king size comfortable bed. Access to the small garden is from downstairs, this also affords views across the fields to the estuary and sea.
The cottage is the last property in a small hamlet of about 15 houses along a country lane that leads down to the main road and the local railway station (500yards). The village of Llanbedr is one mile away down the scenic lane that passes the cottage. Harlech with its famous castle lies two miles to the north, and the seaside town of Barmouth is 7 miles to the south. The famous Portmeirion Village is 11 miles away, and the steam railways of Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway are a short distance further. The natural beauty of this area which lies within the Snowdonia National Park attracts visitors back year after year. Tree Tops has sand dunes and beaches on its doorstep, the nearest a one mile walk, whilst behind it the hills rise up to the Rhinog Mountains which run parallel with the coast. There are many routes through this remote scenery, along most of which you rarely meet other hikers. There are two valleys (6 mile lane to the head) that give you access into the heart of the Rhinogs from Tree Tops. Additionally there are many organised and varied activities that guests can enjoy from surfing on an inland lagoon, zip line (longest in Europe, fastest in the world), exploring underground caverns, slate, copper mine tours, guided water adventures, and some of the best biking tracks and centres in the UK. There are restaurants in Harlech and Barmouth, as well as two pubs in Llanbedr ( one mile) which serve food.

Friendly village setting with level walk to the beach in stunning Snowdonia, this one-bedroomed self contained apartment has off road parking, private entrance & is a 2 minute walk from the main line railway stop. Bus connections 5 min walk. Nearest pub under 5 min yet this is an idyllic spot with own private patio & views towards the sea. Dog friendly (max 2 dogs). All on 1 level with features to aid those with reduced mobility. NB: Step down from driveway then up 1 step to main entrance.
Everyone tells me the photos don't do it justice! Apparently it is much larger than the pics make it look. With patio doors opening to a spacious private enclosed patio (fenced all round to contain dogs & very sheltered) and a private entrance it's ideal for anyonelooking for a peaceful break away from it all. Inside is light and modern with all 4 rooms on 1 level. The bathroom has a double-sized walk-in shower with rails & seat for anyone not so hot on their pins. There's also a bathtub as well as loo and basin. The bedroom is huge. The bed has a comfortable double bed and dressing area with 2 wardrobes full of hangers. Extra bedding is supplied in case you need it although you have control of the heating thermostat. There's an electric real flame effect stove in the lounge for cosiness in cooler weather and to top up the heating should you need it. The dining table can seat up to 4 and the kitchen is fully equipped should you feel like cooking! We try to provide all those extras such as kitchen towel, foil and so on. If you have specific requirements and you're not sure whether it's supplied just ask! There is a Spar and a great newsagent/ Post Office in the village, less than 10 mins walk up the lane. PS: It's the Welsh Sausage Champion!
"Where the mountains meet the sea" describes this stunning corner of Snowdonia. A paradise for walkers wishing to explore the national park on our doorstep, stunning sandy beaches stretch for miles (and yes, there is a nudist beach allocated less than a mile from here) but did you know there is an airfield offering pleasure flights in the neighbouring village of Llanbedr? The countryside here is simply breathtaking: panoramic vistas on Moelfre, the pudding-basin hill overlooking Dyffryn Ardudwy and natural woodlands heaving with mosses, oaks and glacial boulders. Backing the village, the Rhinogs hill range offers miles of unspoilt landscape accessible to walkers. Within the village a significant proportion of buildings are built from huge blocks of local stone and Welsh slate. In the immediate area are ancient burial chambers, churches dating back many centuries, a brand spanking new art gallery as well as 2 cafes, 2 pubs, 2 convenience stores, a fuel station & 2 garages; even 2 forms of public transport: buses and trains! We are, guess what? A 2 minute walk from the railway station! With so much going on you wouldn't believe how quiet it is in our peaceful annexe.

Harlech is in the southern part of Snowdonia National Park, it sits amongst beautiful surroundings with a 15th century castle at it's heart. The flat is part of a small 1970's estate of flats and houses. It is a modern refurbished flat with large, open plan kitchen and living room, a bedroom with twin beds and bathroom. The sofa bed in the sitting room quickly converts to a roomy and comfortable double bed. One of the best beaches in Wales is 3 minutes by car, 10 to 15 minutes walk.
This is an ideal place for walkers with any number of walks close by which can be to beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers or forests, (I am happy to advise). There are also many mountain bike trails, zip wires and giant trampolines in the old quarries. If your tastes are for something less strenuous there are castles, gardens, the famous village of Porthmeirion (15minute drive), narrow gauge railways, market towns and gentle strolls on the beach with beautiful sunsets, an excellent golf course is a very short walk from the property.
From the bedroom window you can just about see Harlech castle; a ten minute walk up a steep hill will bring you to the castle and the village where there are shops, cafes and restaurants. There is a general grocery store a 5 minute walk away on flat ground. (Turn right on the main road.) The garage over the road sells a few basics. Harlech beach is one of the finest in Wales, it is a ten to fifteen minute walk or three minutes in the car.

A stone built converted barn adjacent to our main house, situated just outside the village of Llanbedr. It sleeps 2 people, either in twin or one super king sized bed, with en-suite shower room. There is also a kitchen and lounge downstairs. Free parking on premises. Wireless Internet.
A cosy space for TWO only. We also welcome single guests. There is a lounge, kitchen & dining area downstairs and a en-suite bedroom upstairs. We added a host of 'eco' features to our barn conversion! There's a solar panel to heat the water, underfloor heating run from a log burning boiler and we buy 'green' electricity too. We used local slate and reclaimed materials where possible - even the paint is eco friendly!
This is an amazing spot, nestled between the beautiful coastline of Cardigan Bay and majestic hills and mountains of Snowdonia. Small villages, inviting pubs & cafes, historic buildings all within easy reach. Miniature railways abound and the Cambrian Coast mainline is truly on of the most scenic in Britain!

Nestling beneath imposing Harlech Castle, Glan Twyni is a short walk to shops, castle, beach etc. At present there is no internet connection or phone line at the bungalow; mobile phone reception is patchy too, bliss! Glan Twyni is Welsh for ‘coastal dunes’, and apart from the Royal St. David’s Golf Course, nothing else stands between our bungalow and the most fantastic beach we’ve ever been to. At the front the view is dominated by magnificent Harlech Castle which never fails to impress.
There is one ensuite double, one smaller double room, a twin room, family bathroom, kitchen, living/ dining room and sun room. Our bungalow is accessible for wheelchairs and child friendly, it has space for one vehicle on the driveway.
There is as much or as little to do around Harlech as you want, it really depends on you. We’ve yet to make a comprehensive page about the many things to do so in the mean time, here are a few things close by… Royal St. David’s Golf Club (5 mins walk) Harlech Castle (10 mins walk) Swimming Pool and Rock Climbing Centre (5 mins walk) Portmeirion Village Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway Walking in the nearby Snowdonia ranges provides breathtaking views and walks Castle Cottage Restaurant Beddgelert and Betws y Coed are a short drive away The local corner shop provides necessities but there is a much better selection of shops in Porthmadog including Tesco.

Jane and Reg invite you to share the beautiful cottage at Hafod Wen. Sitting snugly to the side of the Main House, this charming 1920's building is an independent unit which was added to Hafod Wen when Cadbury’s the chocolate maker turned Hafod Wen into a convalescence home for their male employees. Initially built to house the warden, in the 1930's it became the home of the significant British composer, Joseph Holbrooke. Some say on a quiet night the lyrical sound of his violin concerto "The Grasshopper” can be heard in the murmuring breeze. We will leave you to decide. The conservatory style entrance hall, at the back of Hafod Wen, leads to light filled rooms each with large windows framing the panoramic views of Cardigan bay, The Royal St David’s Golf Course, set in the sand dunes below (an SSSI) and the Snowdonia range of mountains beyond. The interior of the cottage has been furnished with the owners distinctive and inimitable style. Featuring a mixture of antique and 1930’s furniture, artworks and sculptures, with stylish fabrics, bedding and soft furnishings. The large kitchen with a dining area has its own French window leading to the patio with barbeque and seating area.
Looks out onto a truly magnificent view - the huge bay below encircled by the Lleyn Peninsula and the mighty mountains of Snowdonia. Delightful grounds with patio areas to relax in, small lawns and a huge variety of shrubs and trees that cling to the ledges of this lovely mature garden. Private gardens to each of the properties, with shared access to 8 acres of beautiful grounds, which contain a working garden with orchards, vegetable garden and beehives, while being a great place to relax and unwind. Outside terraced areas for enjoying long, relaxed breakfasts and lunches, or taking a stroll around the grounds with a glass of wine to admire the views. The owners, who live at the rear of the property, are happy to help arrange various activities such as mountain bike hire, book 'tee off' time, find active adventure packages, provide local maps and arrange walks of particular interests, including conducted local garden tours. One of the owners (Jane Chapman MA) has an art gallery on the grounds showing her work, and will offer guided tours on request.
Situated in the National Park of Snowdonia, with the mountains on one side and the beach on the other.
