We loved staying at The Rookery! Holli was an excellent host, very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The cottage was very clean when we arrived, matching the pictures in the listing with all of the expected amenities. It’s an easy walk to the beach, and the pool was very nice as well! The hot tub was unfortunately closed for construction during our stay. My only note was the 8 guest max on the listing. There were 5 of us in the cottage and even though it is capable of sleeping 8, I would say it more comfortably sleeps 6 people. One of the bathrooms is only accessible from the primary bedroom, so over 6 people could feel a little cramped with 4+ people sharing one bathroom. The kitchen table also only seats 4. But if you’re flexible with your living arrangements you can definitely make it work! I would absolutely recommend this for your Gulf Shores vacation and would love to return myself!

Thank you for helping us celebrate the New Year in a beautiful place! Everything was as described, plenty of space to spread out but still be close to family. The hot tub was hot and perfect for the overcast days and for relaxing after a long day of playing.

This was a quiet, peaceful stay super close to the beach! Accommodated a family of 5 easily. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Our stay was wonderful!!! We loved everything about the house. Quiet neighborhood, close to the beach, great for our large family with kids. The house had everything we needed! Very clean and comfortable. The host was great!!! Will definitely be staying there again!!!

We had seven adults in our party and there was plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. Amenities were great! Enjoyed the pickleball court being within walking distance. Lisa was always immediately responsive to any questions we had. We will be back again! Thank you!

My two teens and I LOVED staying at the Summerhouse and didn't want to leave. The interior is so beautiful, they have decorated with a collection of unique baskets throughout the home and with the light gray paint scheme and real beach paintings it really is so peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the patio. love the kitchen view over the marsh. The outdoor hose is convenient to rinse off after the beach. The home had everything I wanted including a blender. Everything was incredibly clean and spotless. We stayed in Rookery 3 (this is Rookery 1) another year and preferred this, we like the pool better and this particular house is at the back of the property so you cannot hear 180 traffic at all, it is very quiet. I love staying in quiet Fort Morgan out of the Orange Beach bustle. The walk to the beach is easy, we walked down to beach 4th fireworks. The hosts were super responsive with any questions I had. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you very much!

Fredrick is a fantastic host. He made the stay very enjoyable with his responsiveness and fast actions. His home is at an amazing location to get to downtown. The house itself is a well maintained historic shotgun house 2 blocks from Government St. I look forward to staying there again in the future.

We loved this beautiful place. The weather was great and we could spend lots of time outside. There were many spaces to enjoy and the bikes to ride the quiet streets or to the nearby beach were a neat feature. Inside it is very compact but Jennifer thought of everything and there were many neat touches. Wished we could have stayed longer!

Dolphins literally right outside the window! Being right on the bay was so beautiful - surrounded on 2 sides by water and sky. The bird watching was fun and you literally could fish from the porch. The cottage is clean, comfy, private and secure. It’s unpretentious, attractive, and has what you need. It’s an older building with some imperfections, but not flaws. The kitchen has all the basics, cozy blankets are close at hand, and bath towels are plentiful. The Sassy Bass market and restaurant are right down the road for groceries or dinner. This would make a great home base for gulf coast adventures or you could stay right on the bay the whole time. There are several public beach access points nearby and it’s an easy drive to attractions in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. When the construction on the boardwalk around the property is done, that will be fun, too. Until then, it’s definitely an “under construction” site, so keep an eye on dogs and small kids.

We felt right at home in this lovely cottage. The neighborhood was nice and the neighbors walking their dogs were friendly. The decor was nice and the house was clean.

The Good Life was a wonderful stay for our family with small children. Everything was fresh and clean, the amenities were high quality, and the added children’s perks were so perfect (pack n play, beach toys, and beach wagon specifically). The host was very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. With just a short walk to the beach, it was the perfect setup for us!

We were actually the first renters of this wonderful cottage, back in 2022. We returned to the area and rented it again. We LOVED seeing it is just as welcoming, beautiful and clean as the first time. We love the area, activities and restaurants, and look forward to returning again soon.

We had a lovely stay with Dena! We walked the shore of the bay enjoyed coffee in the sunroom with the bay breeze and the sounds of waves and birds in the morning. Watched a beautiful sunset, the boats of a regatta, and relaxed in the oasis of the cottage atmosphere. Highly recommend a stay!

There was just the two of us for the Plein Air Dauphin Island event. So had our own bedrooms and bath. The home is beautifully designed, clean and upscale. Feels like a boutique hotel. For an artist it was fantastic as we could walk a block in any direction for great island views. I enjoyed coffee on the front deck each morning and it was so quiet. The kitchen was well laid out and everything worked well. Loved the carport underneath as well for us to paint during the day. Thank you Alan for always being available for questions and advice, and for sharing your little oasis.

This place was great! House was very clean and looked just like the pictures. The location was perfect with the bay access right behind the house and the beach access only a 2 minute walk across the street. The host was very responsive and answered any questions we had quickly. Overall it was fantastic!!

Perfect place for a completely relaxing, peaceful week at the beach. House fully met our expectations and more. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need. We will definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay. Only thing I didn’t realize is all of the rooms were right next to each other. I imagined more space within the home. The bathroom situation was also not ideal especially with kids. One of the restrooms was inside the master and the other was connected to the room with the bunks so it always seemed to me an argument between them. Other than that great home great location the pool was a huge win! Just make sure you grab snacks or food before heading home for the day! I’d stay here again!!

The location was great for being centrally located in Midtown Mobile between downtown and 20 mins from Baldwin County. The backyard was great for our pup to play in. The neighborhood felt safe and the house had all the essentials for a nice stay.

Great Property. Would stay here again.

Great pet friendly vacation rental! Walking distance to a beautiful private beach. We can’t wait to come back!
