A beautiful and cozy place place to stay, centrally located at the heart of Guwahati city. This location is at a nearby distance from a few hotspots as well as transport option. As I mentioned in my earlier Reviews that in "Purnima"; You would fill the experience of "Home far from Home". Therefore while check-out You would fill the same sadness that You experience while You leave your home. Indrani Madam and her husband would treat You as if You are there own Family member. If you have to stay in Guwahati near Beltola region, we highly recommend this place. The house is serene, with nice garden, and very neat and clean house. We bet if you find a particle of dust in the house! Perfectly made beds and blankets for the Guwahati weather keeps you warm as well as refreshed all day. Owners (Krishnaji & Mr. Barua) are very polite and approachable. They never interfere with your privacy but are always on their toes to guide you and address the concerns if any. Their home cooked food made by Jayanto, a humble and hardworking, polite young man who is available for your service all the time, is always fresh and finger licking! You don't feel like going out for food if you taste the food cooked here. Fish is the specialty. Bathroom is very spacious, neat and clean. Towel and toiletries are always available. Their interior is very interesting and they have mini library too. In case you want to have a lazy day at home- this is perfect place too! Locality is serene and pleasant. You have market nearby. I don't think you can have more perfect place than this!

Aditi and Ranjit are great hosts and very gracious and welcoming. We were able to learn a bit about the culture of the city and got a few recommendations for places to eat and visit as well. The place is immaculately maintained and the vibes are amazing. It's bright, vibrant and filled with so many art and deco pieces that will inspire you and fill you with joy. Each room is filled with books that you can spend hours reading and we ended up buying some books from the local bookshop based on what we saw in the rooms. The support staff are great too. The rooms are cleaned every day and the linen and towels are replaced on time. It was a great mix of a bed & breakfast with the service of a hotel. The included breakfast is wonderful as well and we enjoyed eating the food everyday. This place is an absolute gem and a rare find in a country that doesn't always understand the quality of service that needs to be displayed in the hospitality industry. We would highly recommend this place!

Staying at Pratiksha has always been a delight. The home made food prepared by Aunty is the highlight of our stay. Thank you so much Aunty and Pratiksha for your kind hospitality and the great food. This will definitely be our stay whenever we visit gauhati again.

Great place to stay. We were traveling as a family and we had enough space. Nice outdoor patio with great views. We arrived in the morning and were hungry. Some breakfast food was in the kitchen and tea was provided. Bandana was so nice to think of us. Hope to be back next year!

Very tastefully done place. Central location with good eateries around the place. Debajyoti was a great host, not to mention the domestic help at the bungalow that was extremely nice and helpful. Compares to any good corporate accommodation with all amenities needed. Will definitely choose this over a host of other hotels in Guwahati.

The place looked exactly like the photos. Do not expect a standard hotel type experience as a lot of the furniture and decor was vintage and it really added to the ambience. The bathroom is really tiny but that probably because that how bathrooms were set up in the old days Vishal and his team were very accommodating to my needs which was a night time check in and a late afternoon check out. The food was outstanding and I appreciated that both breakfast and lunch was provided much later than the designated times purely for my convenience. As a host, Vishal was very communicative and helpful. It is slightly costlier than the average Airbnb cost in Guwahati but it's worth it for the ambience and the food. Definitely recommend.

Bibi is a gracious host whose place is spotless and welcoming. The room is accessed through a separate staircase, so it is private, with a tiny verandah facing the beautiful garden. Bibi is very kind and helpful, allowing for a late check out for me and also taking a parcel for me. The complimentary breakfasts she serves are lovely as well. Couldn’t have asked for a better location. It was in a quiet lane off the main zoo road with lots of cafés and shops on the main road.

Rupankar is amongst one of the hosts who pulls up extra effort to make your stay comfortable..!! he did not only took care of us but also was kind enough to get the food prepared for our furry kid..!!

Excellently maintained property of an eminent Indian personality. The stay was exactly as described and tastefully furnished with antiques. Very clean and comfortable. The property is still owned by the Baruah family which was great to know. As too many of our heritage houses are getting lost to modernisation these days. Only tip for improvement would be - Maybe to add a quick introduction about the family history, life and contributions of Dr. Birinchi Kumar Baruah. Those interested to know more can then be guided to the ample reading material kept for guests. Heritage tourism can be an added highlight. In all, highly recommend the place for your next trip to Guwahati.

I stayed for 1 night only and it was comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean. The basic amenities were provided. There was water, tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast was also offered in the morning which was really nice. I am a vegetarian but they also gave an egg in the breakfast. It would have been nice if I was asked about my non vegetarian preference. The hosts were friendly and easy to communicate with. It was easy to find the location and an Uber could easily reach it. There is construction going on next doors so there was noise in the daytime. The only thing that bothered me a bit was that they changed my room without informing me or asking me. My bed was next to a window and it was a bit cold at night so I could not sleep very comfortably. However the overall stay was very good. I would recommend this homestay :)

I had a fantastic stay at Subod’s place. He was pure entertainment—kind, friendly, and always ensuring a great experience. The stay was comfortable, and the hospitality made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting!
