This historic cottage was beautifully preserved and decorated. The furnishings were comfortable without taking away from the historic charm. We only stayed overnight and didn’t cook so I can’t remark on how the kitchen was equipped, but it was very nice for our needs. My grandmother owned the Gunn property which is located right next to this property so we felt right at home. My sister and I were visiting regarding family matters so it was very nostalgic. Would definitely stay there again, and I highly recommend it to others.

As a third time guest I cannot express how beautiful this lake house is. The home is stunning and stocked with everything you may need. The back yard and dock area offer perfect spaces for relaxing with family and friends. Denise is a wonderful host and will respond quickly to any questions or concerns you may have. We look forward to visiting again.

this place was peaceful beautiful and our host was awesome. I would definitely come back to stay when visiting covington again. so close to Mystic falls vampire diaries which is why we went.

The John’s place was serene, peaceful, and had plenty of space. We wish we could have stayed longer!

We stayed for just two nights, but at least 6 hours was spent just sitting out by the river. so peaceful and beautiful.

This property is huge. The boundary lines could be touched up a bit but the property is absolutely stunning. There are various trails that lead to the Alcovy River but I recommend not going out unless you have experience in raw woodlands. The garden in the back yard is fenced, there's a fire pit, and the birds sing beautiful songs from morning until the crickets and frogs take over the night. If you love bird watching, there are a plethora of species to ID right from either of the two decks. The full moon, the stars, you'll just have to experience it for yourself. definitely worth every penny. Perfect place to deflate from the business of life in the city. I can't wait to go back already. Also, the owner is very welcoming to any work you would like to complete. I gathered and piled some kindling wood for the next person to enjoy; feel free to do the same. Remember the 'Leave No Trace' principal. The owner keeps this property immaculate. Let's make sure we leave it that way.
