Sit out in the backyard then come indoors to relish leafy views from a triple-aspect living room. The apartment has a cottage feel with window boxes and wooden fittings. A hanging plant, and white linens provide a calming feeling. Awake to the songs of birds and explore our 1/2 acre of fruit trees, vegetable beds, and landscape. Yet most of San Diego’s attractions are just 5 to 10 miles away. The new kitchen is included in your space so you can prepare your own meals if desired. Cooking equipment included are a convection toaster oven, coffee maker, hot pot, a microwave, and an induction plate, pots & pans, kitchen tools, cutlery and dishes. We also provide coffee, tea, sugar, salt & pepper, cooking oil, and ice. This space is attached to our main home but you’ll have your own separate entrance and private kitchen/ living, bed and bath. We'd love to greet you and show you around when you arrive, but if we happen to miss you will have your own unique door code to get in. We’ve prepared a binder of information for guests and can help you plan for best use of your time. However if you prefer to be on your own we’re fine with that too. We have walked to downtown or to the nearest trolley, but unless you are walkers and out for exercise, you will probably want a car. There are now lots of bikes available for rent, but it will be uphill to get back to the house. Some of our guests have chosen to rely only on Uber, in which case grocery and/or meal delivery are helpful. If you have an afternoon or evening flight you are welcome to store luggage at our house after your 10 AM check out. We are in a hilly residential area with stores, restaurants and bus/ trolley access about 2 miles away, so you'll have the most flexibility if you come by car. If you choose to Uber, you can order groceries or takeout meals to be delivered.

La Jolla Beaches, downtown San Diego, the Zoo, and Sea World are 25 minutes away. Santee Lakes is just a short drive away where you can enjoy fishing, paddle boating, splash park, biking and picnic area. Mission Gorge Trails is also located just 5 minutes away.

Our family-friendly home rests on the foothills of Mt Helix, 15-20 mins to downtown and beaches. Your space is a converted 2-bdrm basement unit with private entrance and access to a large patio, play area, backyard w/ pool and spa. You are steps away from a beautiful nature trail and park; Estrella County Park. Our family of 3 lives above the unit and we strive to provide a wonderful, relaxing stay for our guests. We are close to all that San Diego has to offer without the chaos of the city.

Cozy, secure, and quiet studio in Lakeside

Studio granny flat w/full bath. Large windows front & back giving great natural light. Located at the end of a dead-end private drive. The 420 sq ft space includes a 65" HD TV w/DirectTV service, high speed wireless & wired internet, kitchenette w/convection cook microwave, fridge/freezer, w/many other extras. Unit was recently remodeled with new furniture. 1 Queen bed, dbl recliners, & dinette. (Also, the picture of the front of our property is not accurate - Airbnb uses Google photos 😕)

MIKE'S PLACE - A PRIVATE COTTAGE

The cottage features full amenities that include: Tempurpedic™ queen-size bed. Wi-Fi . Cable HDTV, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, wet bar, coffee maker, toaster, and iron. Window seat for sitting, reading or lounging. Private entrance and patio connecting to a courtyard and Japanese garden. Spacious bathroom with 12 foot high tiled shower. French doors open to a private sitting area. If the days are booked in the cottage we might have an opening at, Mikes House and Garden.

California awaits as you can wander east to the mountains and desert, or west to the beaches and shopping centers. Legoland, Seaworld, and the Sesame Place waterpark are all within a short drive.

Tranquil Poolside Studio

Quiet Poolside Studio Suite! Perfect for visiting family in La Mesa or enjoying everything San Diego has to offer! Please note: this is not a party house. Private side entrance to a relaxing poolside studio. Very quiet with TV, and full kitchen. Comfortable queen size bed and sofa that can sleep one more person comfortably. We are 20 min to the beach, or relax and enjoy the pool! Close to SDSU and easy freeway access to anywhere in San Diego.

Place to Stay with Private Entrance near Beach

The room has a private entrance. It's ideally located in a residential area of Ocean Beach. 5 blocks to the beach, OB pier, and 2 blocks to village life, shops & restaurants. It has a queen bed, a small private bathroom with a shower, a fridge, TV, Wifi, microwave, etc. Guests will love the location and privacy! Beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, etc. are available for your enjoyment. Enjoy the great ocean view from the backyard.

Cliffside Lookout - amazing views

The house is located just two miles outside of Julian. The house is on a hillside which has an amazing view. You can see the edge of Julian, all the way into Anza Borrego and on clear days the Salton Sea is visible from the deck. The patio is a great place to sit, sip your locally acquired adult beverage of choice and enjoy the view. Come enjoy Julian, grab a slice of apple pie and sit back and enjoy the slower side of life.
