Our Point of View

Escape to a place with breathtaking glacier and mountain views that is only 20 min from downtown but feels worlds away. This cozy 1 BR 1 Bath apartment attached to the back of our home, includes a queen bed as well as a queen pull out sofa bed. It resides in a quiet neighborhood 5 min from the glacier & is the gateway to outdoor exploring with incredible views right off the deck and many other trails close by. Eagle’s Nest on the River

Enjoy nature from this 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment with full laundry facilities. Take in riverfront sunsets from the open-air covered deck, 25 feet off the ground. The property borders the river for enjoyable views of passing wildlife at the end of the day. The bedrooms have black out window shades for a peaceful rest. Take a stroll to the 3 mile Mendenhall Wetlands trail, 300 yards from the doorstep. The apartment is one of two on the top level, so you’ll need to climb 2 flights of stairs.

River House: On Mendenhall River/Glacier(4 min dr)

We love our place on the Mendenhall River! Eagles, bears, deer, porcupine, and otters are common sights in the backyard while the soft rush of the glacier-fed stream provides a soothing background. We are located in the upper Mendenhall Valley, just a 5 minute drive from the Mendenhall Glacier & 3 minute walk to the Brotherhood Bridge trail which takes you into deep old forest almost immediately. The river is ever changing and always beautiful & peaceful. We are available, but don’t intrude.

25 mins to chairlift & 5 mins to downtown, with access to an amazing beach, a Jacuzzi hot tub time machine, Rancho Balsaccò North is central to both downtown Juneau & to pubs, food & historical hikes in Douglas. Walk the beach, watch the eagles, look for jumping fish with a fantastic view of Juneau. Ground level private entrance, comfortable new Queen bed & blackout blinds make it easy to sleep to the sound of the creek. The private road to our small beach front neighborhood adds to the charm.

Go fishing & head home with a freezer full of Halibut and Salmon! Deep freezer in the Unit! Holds a couple hundred lbs of fish or game. Fully stocked Kitchen Propane grill Coffee Bar Privacy curtains / blackout Smart TV Extra Blankets This unit is waterfront and has stairs. Not ideal for guests with mobility challenges.
