Lovely quite place to stay? Friendly host and nice welcome pack on arrival. Comfortable couch and bed. Very spacious downstairs and wheelchair friendly. The vents can be a bit noisy when the wind gets up. Very little light pollution in some directions if you are into star gazing. The drive is spacious .

Wow. What a fantastic week staying in a fabulous cottage in glorious North Yorkshire. Elizabeth and Peter were excellent hosts keeping us informed daily on the goings on at their amazing farm. The cottage itself is fully equipped and SO comfortable. Situated in the countryside, but equally not far from historic villages, towns, and landmarks, the cottage itself is home from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and hope that as a family we will be able to return. Thank you Elizabeth and Peter x

Jane met us on arrival, explained everything, then left us to chill out. The welcome pack and fresh flowers were a lovely gesture and were much appreciated. The cottage was spotless and felt extremely homely. We very much enjoyed the games room and enclosed hot tub. The garden areas were vast with lots of outdoor furniture. We enjoyed a lovely ice cream at Archers ice cream parlour (10 min walk) and experienced both pubs in nearby Heighington, very friendly, great food and service in the George & Dragon. Another recommendation is the nearby Raby castle, definitely a worthwhile visit. We definitely recommend staying at Ivy cottage and look forward to returning there again. Thank you Jane.

We spent the weekend at Gill’s beautiful cottage and it could not have been any better. The cottage was perfect in every way and we couldn’t have felt anymore at home. The cottage itself was gorgeous and extremely well kept and the views across the fields were stunning. Gill was a great host and went above and beyond to make our trip one to remember. We would recommend this to anyone and were certainly come back again in the future.

We enjoyed a great break in Peewit Cottage, which was spotless and had everything you need. The surroundings were well looked after and amenities great. The little touches, including the welcome pack (best we’ve had and included the dog!) and Prosecco and strawberries to enjoy in the hot tub were thoughtful and lovely. All the information you need is provided prior to arrival or readily available within the cottage. We used the cottage as a base to visit local attractions, all easily accessible by car. Glen was both very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend and somewhere we would return to. Thank you, Jacqueline!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were great at not just providing information but being very responsive to messages and were very friendly and welcoming. The house had everything you could need/want. We didn't need to use the kitchen facilities much in our stay but there was everything you could need there. The welcome pack provided was very much appreciated containing some lovely goodies, especially the coffee from the Durham Coffee company. It was delicious. The beds were super comfy and loved that they provided both a firm & medium pillow to accommodate everyone's preferences. The whole place was really clean & they had really thought about what people would need during a stay. The hot tub was a lovely addition and some of our party took advantage of it. Others liked the fire pit & the hosts even brought round some more logs for us to have a second use of it during our stay. Loved that every room had an ensuite, made things much easier. Loved the Harry Potter room

Wir hatten ein paar sehr schöne Tage im „Farm Cottage“! Der Hof ist ruhig und wunderschön und unsere kleine Tochter war begeistert von den vielen Tieren. Das Pool Haus mit Trainings- und Hobbyraum ist ein tolles Extra, genauso die frischen Eier von den eigenen Hühnern, Holz für den Ofen und der Service, das Waschhaus inkl. Waschmaschine und Trockner zu nutzen. Die Kommunikation mit Chris und seiner Frau war perfekt. Wir waren sehr traurig, dass wir nur ein paar Tage da waren. Ein kleiner Hinweis für große Menschen: Die Dusche ist sehr, sehr niedrig ;) Also entweder baden, im sitzen duschen oder am besten einfach die Dusche im Pool Haus nutzen!

Fantastic cottage and location is to die for. I have got to say David and Barbara have a jewel here. Claire has communicated everything we needed and answered every question we had. Again fantastic. Highly recommend this place. Thanks and hope to return

Great little Cottage. Perfect location for hiking and beautiful walks. The place was spotlessly clean and to be honest was even better than what the photos showed. The whole Place felt brand new. Kitchen was really well Equipped which was perfect for us as we always cook our own food anyway. Totally recommend a stay here if you like hiking along with handy amenities 👍🏼

Lovely cottage built in to the castle walls . Pretty garden which was private and enclosed for the dog . Had a nice stay

If you're looking for a relaxing, off-the-grid holiday, this is the perfect place to stay! Patrick and his family are warm, welcoming hosts, and we were lucky enough to see baby lambs during our visit. Patrick also took the time to chat with us about his home and farm, which made the experience even more special. The accommodation is clean, modern, and spacious—with absolutely stunning views in every direction. And if you love walking, you're in for a treat—there are endless scenic walks to explore. Highly recommend! We will be back!!

Great responsive host with early check in, lovely views with a ice cream parlour serving home made ice cream ,cakes and bakes -just a 5minute walk from the cottage. Great base for plenty of walks nearby. a clean peaceful and cosy cottage with Lovely scenic view from the cottage window, loved my stay everything was provided a home from home.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful home. Lynne is an excellent host and the place is very nicely decorated. We did a country walk nearby as there are lots of footpaths and we came across great views of the surroundings and local bird life. All in all another excellent trip. We highly recommend!

Thank you for having us over Easter. The cottage is set in a magical, quiet village where my daughter was delighted to see horses being ridden from the bedroom window not once but twice! Everything you could want is in the cottage, plenty of games which the kids loved. Warm and cosy and Sue is great with communication and extremely friendly. We were also lucky enough to spot hares jumping around a field up the road of an evening time. Plenty to see and do there. Feels in the middle of nowhere but can quickly get to the shops in Richmond or a little further afield catterick for Tesco. Thanks again!

What can I say... Absolutely fantastic place. You couldn't ask for anything more. Really peaceful location with fantastic views of the hills etc. We had a strange issue but this was sorted out very swiftly by Malcolm 👍 We will definitely be looking to book again and have another peaceful time just watching the world go by. This was one of the nicest places we have stayed in very many years. Carol was a delight and the cottage had everything one could want. I was impressed by the number of books available, it was a joy.

Abbey Hill Cottages to high above W. Hartlepool. They are well equipped.Beds are comfortable and so is sitting room furniture. Plenty of hot water. Good shower.Lots of space. I would stay again.

Spacious and comfortable cottage ideal for a couple in a pretty village by the moors. We enjoyed visiting the surroundings including the city of Durham and Beamish Open Air Museum as well as castles and countryside. On street parking was no problem as we always parked in front of the cottage.

Loved the cottage. On the area: - fabulous local pub doing great food a literally a stone throws away - a ton of stuff to do within driving distance. We have a 3 & a 6 year old and we didn't scratch the surface of what there was in our 2 days. The local train museum (which is free) kept both our kids entertained for half a day alone - outstanding. Kimberley as a host was extremely responsive and her and Gary have very clearly put a lot of thought into the cottage - so many thoughtful touches! Wouldn't want to ruin it but as an example Kimberley even put out some age appropriate books for our kids along with some torches for some lights off reading by their beds. We'll definitely book again next time we're in the area

Stayed for one night for a local event. Lovely cottage. Comfortable sofa and beds. Fully equipped kitchen. Loved the pictures on the walls. Would love to return for a longer stay.

The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need. There are stunning walks from the front door but one of the greatest pleasures afford by a stay here is simply sitting on the terrace with a drink and listening to the birdsong. Northumbria is officially England's least populated county but I went for a 10 mile walk across the moors here and didn't see another living soul. Boltslaw Cottage is small but that's reflected in the price. Will definitely return.

Myself, Ellen and Florence absolutely loved our stay.. wish it could have been longer! A beautiful cottage with everything you could need. The conservatory overlooking the river was the absolute highlight, alongside the ease of access to fishing the river. The perfect relaxing getaway - we’ll be back!

Two night stay, nice property, clean, comfortable and tidy, good hot shower, comfy bed, good to have (needed) off road parking but a bit tricky getting through the narrow drive entrance due to neighbours parking closed by. We didn't use the cooker or microwave but they looked fine. All positive reviews in the guest book.
