Absolutely beautiful place with a gorgeous view of the river. The house is one of those places that makes you feel instantly at home. Sally is an epic host, super responsive and kind.

Wow! What a beautiful part of the world to be able to spend a few days in. The view is incredible and the hot tub, with a glass of wine… What more could you want? Yes some of the furnishings and fixtures are a little dated but who cares when you wake up to that view! Our daughter enjoyed the horses and chickens. One thing to note - not much nearby so make sure you’re prepared with all the groceries you need. There isn’t too much provided other than tea and coffee.

Was the perfect location for us to explore the area, including the forgotten highway. We were impressed how good the heating options were, x2 efficient heat pumps and great log burner, with heat transfer into the bedrooms, plenty of wood available. It was easy to feel at home as lots of personal touches throughout. We were a multi-generational family of 6 but could imagine x2 families would work well with the space. We self catered and kitchen was well set up to do this.

Nicola went above and beyond for me and my friends for my 40th birthday. The house has so much character and so much to do. The tennis court and swimming pool were an added bonus on top of everything else. The house had everything we needed. Great place for everyone to enjoy.

John was an extremely accommodating and responsive host . His space was well appointed and felt right at home . John’s house eas clean , tidy and well equipped . Definitely recommend John and this property to everyone . Thank you once again John :)

We had a fantastic stay at Jo’s place. The home is beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. Jo was an amazing host—super accommodating and always quick to communicate. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience in Auckland. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay. Nathan was incredibly welcoming and allowed us to use his place for our small wedding ceremony. It was the most amazing day and we really enjoyed our entire stay. Thanks again Nathan!! We will always remember this beautiful space that we held our special day at. ☺️

This is an awesome home. Well furnished and the kitchen has every item you need to cook up a feast. Very spacious and the swim in the river was great. We will be back one day.

The perfect base for a few days exploring the Āwhitu Penninsula. Spotlessly clean and great communication. The view is spectacular- next time I want to try the spa!

Garys place is in a beautiful location and has wonderful views of the lake, the jetty and lake access was a real bonus. The bedroom and bathrooms set up were perfect and decorated really nicely, good wifi if you want it too and walkable to the main jetty area and town. thank you also for allowing us to bring our little dogs, it made for a wonderful holiday.

We absolutely loved staying at Vanessa’s place. We spent the last nights of our NZ trip there and were able to host my family for dinner. This is such a beautiful space and would definitely stay again next time we are in Auckland.

Thank you for great stay! Ali's place is cozy and peaceful, and there is much more to it than what is listed on AirBnB. Ali is a friendly and responsive host, and was very helpful in providing recommendations for local coffee shops and cafes when I asked about it. Furthermore, Ali was very generous in allowing early check-in and late check-out based on what I needed. There are beautiful beaches nearby to visit, with some cafes and restaurants overlooking the ocean. Definitely consider booking Ali's place when you are looking for peaceful stay in East Auckland.

We had a wonderful stay at Andrew and Jane’s place! The house is lovely, with a beautiful green setting and a fantastic garden where we enjoyed relaxing. The bed and couch were both large and very comfortable, making our stay extra enjoyable. Andrew and Jane were friendly and communicative hosts. The location was peaceful, and we loved listening to the birds in the garden. Overall, a great place to stay!

Great place to stay! Great area to explore and very nice to have a spacious place to come back to. Plenty of good amenities like laundry and espresso machine (2 most important things for us!). Very walkable to beach, local restaurants, hikes, other touristy stuff. Highly recommend!

From stepping onto the property, Wayne and Jihee were beyond helpful and welcoming. From fresh eggs from their chickens to smoothies, they were lovely and welcoming. The place is a little far from the city but I am heaps glad we chose it as the area was peaceful and gorgeous (and their view is stunning)! We spent a will week there and my daughter was upset to go by yge and as she loved it so much. Would 100% recommend!

Utterly beautiful stay at Corrie’s place. The space is stunning and really thoughtfully put together. Outdoor bath is the icing on the cake! Couldn’t recommend it enough - you won’t be disappointed!

Loved our stay at Corrine’s super cosy, beautifully appointed cottage in the cow paddock. All the extra little touches were lovely - such as marshmallows for the hot chocolate and candles for the outdoor baths. Corrine was lovely and very helpful. Can totally recommend her lovely property.

Absolutely breathtaking views sound this gorgeous cabin! It was cozy & comfortable. A highlight was taking the free kayaks for a paddle for more beautiful scenery on the water. Plus a bonus to be greeted by friendly goats on our way through the paddock down to the river. We found the shower tricky to maintain at a comfortable temperature, but that’s not uncommon when living off the grid. We’d absolutely recommend for a special experience!

The most peaceful beautiful stay for our anniversary. What made it even special was it being dog friendly!! Our pup just LOVED swimming in the creek and hiking to the waterfall (swimming there too haha). We all had the best time and are already planning our return. Can't recommend this spot enough. my partner and I were looking for a cozy, blissful getaway from the city, and we found it! The living space was perfect for spreading out and playing board games, the kitchen had everything we needed to eat like kings, and the bedroom was so deliciously comfortable. The outdoor bath and shower were wonderful despite the autumn chill. Great location, not too close to Hamilton, but close enough to be able to nip to the shops easily. We had a fantastic few days here!!!

looking for peace & to switch off from the pressures of city life for a night or two then this is the place for you, Fantastic scenery, private & the option of 3 different rooms. you can hire all 3 and it would be an awesome get away for family or a group of friends. One of the rooms has its own bathroom and the other two shared facilities which were only a couple of meters away in the stockyard shed.All clean safe and great hot shower too! We had the best sleep ever! It is off the grid but the solar power was more than enough for basic power, lighting,charging devices etc.Cell phone reception is patchy but a few steps up to the barn and you well connected to the world again. (also being semi disconnected added to the charm of the place.) Bring all your own food & drinks + maybe a board game or 2 and really just enjoy the awesome spot without having to venture into town &relax. bonus is the use of a private boat ramp, we had our 2 jetskis and had an amazing time exporting the lake
