Kayaker's Log Cabin w/Cajun Heart

The space available is a loft above the kayak shop in the heart of Cajun country. The shop sits on the banks of the Bayou Teche in historic downtown Breaux Bridge, the Crawfish Capitol of the World. (No, seriously, it is.) The bedroom that overlooks the slow-moving bayou (that used to be the Mississippi River some 5,000 years ago), is furnished with a queen-size bed, plenty of closet space, and a private bath with walk-in shower. Also available to visitors are a shared washer and dryer, and an equipped kitchen. Everything is in walking distance: Café des Amis (known for its Saturday morning Zydeco Breakfast), La Poussiere (an historic Cajun dancehall), a coffee shop that hosts Cajun music jams, antique shops, and grocery stores (where boudin can be found). Cory is the operator of the kayak shop. He lives downstairs when he’s not paddling the Teche or the nearby swamp, Lake Martin. Local highlights include the annual Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival (first full weekend in May), Festival International de Louisiane (last weekend in April), Festival Acadiens et Créoles (second weekend of October), country Mardi Gras (Courir de Mardi Gras), and Avery Island, home of Tabasco and Jungle Gardens. The nearest airport is Lafayette (LFT) with a 20-minute drive. If you choose to visit us from New Orleans, it’s a 2 ½ hour drive. If coming from Baton Rouge (BTR), it’s an hour drive. Our cozy cabin sits in the heart of Cajun country, about 30 minutes outside of Lafayette. It's a great place to spend time relaxing in the quiet serenity of South Louisiana, or enjoy spending a night or more traveling through, it is located just 8 miles north of Interstate 10. We do not allow pets. The Cabin is all wood inside and has the great cabin smell the minute you open the door. It was built in 2014 by Amish builders in Pennsylvania and transported down by a truck.

Secluded Swamp Shack

Hand built from Louisiana cypress, this is truly a unique cabin in the heart of cajun country. Our secluded swamp shack is only accessible by bayou barge. Once you've crossed the Avoca Island Cutoff, you are surrounded by nature and cajun comforts. The screened in porch has excellent views of the bayou's trees and wildlife to enjoy from the porch swing. Inside is adorned with a mix of antique and modern finishes for all your relaxation needs.

Lake Martin Bayou Country Lake Cottage

Our cabin is called La Libellule. It is a wonderful little cabin on Lake Martin in Breaux Bridge, La. Amenities include a king size bed, screened in porch, shaded deck, fire pit, washer, dryer, 2 tvs, internet and a full kitchen. There are generally fresh herbs in the garden depending on what time of year you come. The dragon flys are glorious here and if you are lucky you can see a pinkish red one. There is a lovely walking trail nearby.
