Ca'del Mariner, a Cozy Venetian Retreat with Rooftop Terrace

Cozy up with a book, have breakfast and dinner taking in the remarkable view of Venice bell towers and canals, on fantastic rooftop terrace of this beautiful and cozy apartment filled with furniture and ornaments from local artisans and Murano glass factories. Due to allergic problems of the host, it is not possible to stay with pets, sorry for that. Registration Number: M0270428520 The apartment is situated in Santa Croce district, only a few steps from the lively S.Giacomo da l'Orio Square which is renowned for being one of the most picturesque and popular areas of Venice where locals gather to socialise and gossip. The flat is on the third and last floor of a building located in Corte dei Mercanti, a small and cozy square situated about 10 minutes far from the Rialto Bridge and - going to the opposite direction - only 15 minutes far from Venice S.Lucia railway station. The apartment, recently restored, incorporates the concept of a typical Venetian house which reflects both in the furniture and in its architectural structure. While renovating, attention was paid to recreate and maintain the spirit and atmosphere of the Venetian merchants who livened up this area for decades. Furthermore, furnishings are a work of art as it comes from handy work of local artisans and Murano glass factories. The flat offers a 360° view as it boasts windows on each side and it develops on two levels: the main floor where the living/kitchen areas, the bathroom as well as the bedroom are situated, and the upper floor which hosts a relaxing area and a rooftop terrace. The entrance door gives access to the roomy and luminous living area is decorated with three-colour wallpaper and infused by natural light thanks to four windows. The space also includes a comfy sofa, a television and a tea table. Straight ahead, the wide and functional kitchen completes the area. It has classic style custom-made furniture which includes a slate top and details made of pewter. All appliances and a classy wooden table - which seats four - finish the furnishings. The bathroom with shower and a comfortable bedroom complete the main floor. Here, a double bed, a bridge wardrobe and a couple of reading lights furnish the space which is decorated with floral wallpaper and other decorative elements that recall the thousand-year old relationship existing between Venice and the Far East. The ceiling highlights once again the original structure of the building and a lovely skylight ideally extends the room towards the sky. A stairway made of Venetian grey granite leads to the upper floor where, nestled it the eaves of the roof, an air-conditioned reading area finds place. It represents the ideal place where to relax lay on the sofas. The loft also offers a terrace which overlooks the surrounding roofs and bell towers, among which the S.Maria dei Frari and S.Mark's ones. This sunny area is equipped with fine teak chairs and table for four to enjoy unique breakfasts, sunsets, sunrises or a romantic dining under the stars. The Santa Croce district is the heart of everyday Venice, is the Neighborhood, where Venetians live, far from noisy of touristic flow, but, in the meantime, really close to the main Venetian attractions. Here ACTV line number 1 and airport shuttle Alilaguna Orange line stop. This is the closest water bus stop which is located 2 minutes far from the apartment (no bridges to cross). The railway station Venezia-Santa Lucia is easily reachable in only 15 minutes on foot, while Venice bus terminal and parking garages are only 20 minutes far. Recently restored, the romantic interior character has been retained, as the typified by the bedroom's original fireplace and ceiling with wooden trusses. The apartment has a beautiful terrace, with a fantastic view, where you can have dinner under the stars and, during the day, listen to classical music from the nearby music conservatory. The apartment is a few minutes walk from Piazza S.Marco and near the famous theatre La Fenice, in an ideal position to discover the most famous but also the most fascinating and less popular places of marvellous Venice. It has been recently restored under the expert coordination of the owner Luisa, keeping the romantic Venetian character and atmosphere of the past unaltered: it has the entrance on the fourth and last floor and it overlooks three sides of the palace. The living room has a remarkable view over the wide campo S. Maurizio where a periodic and characteristic antiques market takes place; from the living room you can admire important gothic buildings and the homonymous neoclassic church built by the Venetian architect Gianantonio Selva with its majestic bell tower. RIALTO 1679 - 3 real minute walking from the most famous bridge in Venice and the Grand Canal. San Polo side, near the historic fish and greengrocery market in the middle of the heart of everything. San Marco square is 10-15 minutes walking, so noo need to buy vaporeto tickets. You have everything around you, but still in a very quiet street so no noise during seeping. Rialto-Mercato station is also 3 minutes walking, so is easy to reach with luggages from the bus/train station or airport.
