This 60-year-old traditional home has been fully renovated, offering guests a deep sense of both "Japan" and "Nara". Experience our traditional "futon" or rest comfortably in our beds for longer stays. Our dual-themed garden provides a serene Nara-esque atmosphere and a fun play area for kids with a large slide. Families can enjoy watching their children from inside. Prioritizing hygiene, our place is cleaned by professionals and equipped with brand-new sanitary facilities.

Traditional district Guesthouse

The house is in a quiet, traditional area of Nara with smooth access to the station and main sightseeing spots. You’ll have 2 guest rooms upstairs with a toilet and washbasin. The shower room is on the first floor. Each room has a lock for your privacy. There are 3 futon beds and 1 double bed. Meals are available if reserved 2 days in advance: sukiyaki dinner (6,500 JPY/person) breakfast (1500JPY/person) I also run a cozy café nearby, closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

A Satoyama Private Retreat in Nara

A private Satoyama retreat in the mountains of Nara, just 20 minutes from the city. This traditional one-group-per-day house is renovated with reclaimed wood and uses fresh mountain spring water. Enjoy hands-on cooking with organic rice and vegetables from our farm. Relax in a wood-fired bath, and in the morning experience a Japanese tea ceremony surrounded by nature. Dinner options include tempura & sushi rolls, teriyaki chicken, koji fried chicken, or pizza making.

The surroundings are full of nature, and if you are lucky, you can see animals such as wild deer, boars and squirrels. In addition to burning charcoal in the fireplace and enjoying the burning fire, you can enjoy the following as fireplace dishes. (We prepare 1 box of charcoal. Please prepare your food.) ・Hot pot dishes using an iron pot ・Grilled fish using long bamboo skewers ・Roasted sweet potato ・Grilled meat dishes using iron pan ・Grilled rice balls using a net.

A newly renovated machiya town house with typical layout and a small garden, retaining the tradition of Naramachi - the old merchant town of Nara. Easy access via bus and train, supermarket, restaurants, convenience store, bakery, and a Japanese bath house just minutes away. This house belonged to a famous wood carver of "ittobori" - a traditional Nara technique of carving the wood. A projector and a record player will make your stay even more pleasant. Enjoy!

およそ築100年、大正時代の本格日本家屋のゲストハウスを一棟貸し切りして頂けます。 気兼ねなく、奈良に暮らすようにゆっくりお過ごし頂けます。 奈良公園のすぐ側、近鉄奈良駅まで徒歩約10分。 早朝や夕暮れの静かな時間の散策も容易です。 4名様まで同料金です。最大9名様までご宿泊頂けます。 格子の窓や茶室、縁側、中庭、大正時代に建てられた日本家屋は趣で魅力いっぱいです。 中庭に面した掘り炬燵のあるリビングでゆっくり団欒して下さい。 キッチンは、IHコンロ、電子レンジ、トースター、冷蔵庫、ポット、調理道具などが揃っています。 みんなで料理して、庭を見ながら掘りごたつでお鍋を囲むなど、楽しくお過ごし下さい！ トイレとシャワールームは二か所ずつございます。 ホテルのような設備はございませんが、懐かしい情緒とゆっくりお過ごし頂けると幸いです。 お部屋は寝室だけで合計3部屋（大きい和室を分割すれば4部屋）ございます。 人数に合わせてご用意させて頂きます。 部屋割りなどにご希望がございましたらご連絡下さい。

Our guesthouse is located in the old town called Nara-machi. There used to be many traditional wooden townhouses known as Machiya. We restored Machiya while keeping the original structure in order to provide you with a traditional Japanese experience with local atmosphere.This house is for only private use and has only one floor with Japanese style room, shower room, washroom, sink and small garden.

こんにちは。西村邸へようこそ。主宰の杉本雄太です。 西村邸は、築110年以上の伝統的な奈良町屋です。ぼく自身が子どもの頃、長い時間を過ごした「おばあちゃんち」を改修して2019年に宿としてオープンしました。奈良町屋のありのままの姿を残しているので不便も多く、すべてが揃うような豪奢なホテルではありません。 　そのかわり、奈良町に漂う「心地よいひなび」に浸るにはこれ以上ない場所だと考えています。駅前の喧騒をはなれた環境で「内省と回復」の手助けになればとの思いで、お部屋の書籍やベジタリアンスタイルの朝食を用意しています。（お部屋の書籍は、ほぼ全てご購入いただけます。） 　どうぞ今夜は、西村邸と奈良町の静けさの中で、ご自身の心の声に耳を澄ませながらお過ごしください。

Our hotel is a 5-minute walk from JR Nara Station, ideal for exploring Nara and its cuisine. Near the 100-year Hall for events and concerts. We have a total of 4 rooms available. We offer luxury amenities and an unmanned check-in system for convenience. Osaka and Kyoto are 40 minutes by train.
