Food Scene

I like the atmosphere and the good coffee.

Stock Bar & Grill
78 March St
Well, I'm categorising this under "food scene" despite the fact this is a pub. It's quite a nice one, but I generally only go there for a meal with friends and possibly a game of pool. Nice winter fire, nice leather lounges, nice food.

Essentials

This locally owned family business is not only a green grocer's, but has a wonderful delicatessen as well, and the most friendly, knowledgeable and speedy service. The staff are happy to assist, and even offer to carry your produce to your vehicle. Where possible, they source locally grown products. I can't recommend them enough.

Sightseeing

The HAC is now part of the Western Sydney University, and there are records of two of my mother's uncles, Bill and Ray Frizell, attending Agricultural College there from the age of 15 years, before the outbreak of WWI. Linked with the agricultural heritage of the Hawkesbury area is that of the local and broader war effort for both World Wars, and the architecture and the traditions of the College are lovely to see. Worth a stroll, a drive, a cycle or a jog through the grounds and avenues of this proud campus. Please note, as an agricualtural research are, domestic animals are not permitted.
