Has a night market and is terrific for great food (both affordable and up-market), good shopping, and within easy walking distance of the waterfront and Courtenay Place. Also check out the iconic 'Bucket Fountain'. There were some stunning things designed in the sixties and seventies - sadly this fountain wasn't one of them. A great place to meet, however. Hence the saying 'Meet me at the Bucket Fountain, dude'.

Beautiful fresh food, great decor, spacious and nice place to hand out generally. Recommend the gorgeous breads. Yum.

Fantastic way to take in some of New Zealand's cultural life, and wonderful travelling exhibitions. Great rainy day option, if you have kids that need a fascinating place to spend the day. I find it really impressive every time I visit. Te Papa rocks.
