It's literally right on the river in a former factory. Grow a lot of their own vegetables in their glorious gardens. Slightly pricey but worth it. Or eat at the bar. Also bring a picnic basket (supplied in the cottage) and get food/wine at a local shop in the village.

Bike, run, walk the Old Croton Aqueduct for amazing views of the Hudson. Keep going south to reach Untemyer Gardens and Lenoir Nature Preserve.

The 46 acre preserve is in walkign distance from the Airbnb & boasts a number of unusual specimen trees and shrubs imported from around the world. Among them are some magnificent copper beeches from Europe, gingko trees from Asia and Douglas firs from the Pacific Northwest. These imports join native sugar maples, red oaks, hemlocks, pines and tulip trees in providing shelter for many kinds of wildlife including woodpeckers, owls and bats. Great views of the Hudson. Castle ruins.

Getting around
The Metro-North train to Grand Central is a 35 minute ride along the Hudson and a 5 minute Uber ride to the train station from the house.
It's a 3 block walk from the house to Amjoe's Deli, a wine shop/liquor store, bodega and gas station.
Otherwise it's a 5 minute Uber ride to the village or a 15-20 minute walk to the village.
