Taking the name of the 19th-century railroad magnate Collis Potter Huntington, this 1,000-acre state park is on land donated by his heirs in the 1970s. The park had been landscaped decades before, at the turn of the 20th century, with five man-made ponds, a system of trails and a small stone lighthouse that is still standing on one of the ponds’ islands. On arrival you’ll be confronted by naturalistic sculptures of bears and wolves, and these are the work of Anna Hyatt Huntington (1876-1973) who had her studio here. Visit for hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, horseback riding and cross-country skiing in winter. Autumn and early-winter is bow-hunting season, so it’s important not to stray from the trails at this time

Danbury is the second best city in the U.S. 2015 Danbury was beat out by only one U.S. city–Meridian, Idaho. So what makes this Fairfield county city so great?According to 24/7 Wall St., it's a fun place to live. "Leisure activities are easy to come by in the area. There are around 10 nature parks and 57 marinas per 100,000 area residents, each some of the highest concentrations of such amenities nationwide." Danbury was also found to have a relatively low crime rate with 178 violent crimes per 100,000 people and 1604.2 property crimes per 100,000 people. This information comes from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's 2014 Uniform Crime Report. The city's downfall, is that being in Fairfield County makes it a relatively pricey place to live. "The best places to live are not necessarily affordable. Danbury...is in Fairfield County, Connecticut, one of the most expensive areas in the nation. The cost of living in the area is nearly 31% higher than the national average cost of living. Housing expenses, in particular, are very high, costing 58% more than the nationwide average cost. Households in the city, with an annual median income of $69,394, are slightly less wealthy than households across the state. A typical home in Danbury is valued at $283,400, slightly higher than Connecticut’s median home value of $267,200," 24/7 Wall St. writes.
