There's a reason why people queue up to eat here. It is my absolute favourite cafe in Sydney. The bread/bagels are baked on site every morning, so everything is just deliciously fresh and tasty. I believe they also open in the evenings with a cocktail menu.

Delicious food and cakes, friendly staff, cheap prices. This cafe is close to Centennial Park too, a great spot for a coffee before walking through the park to the duck pond.

Blu Bar is on level 36 inside the Shangri-La hotel. It is one of Sydney's best cocktail bars with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the entire harbour. I've personally tasted the Solero and Toblerone cocktails and they were the best I've ever had. Get in there early to get a good spot, it gets busy as soon as it opens.

A total experience!! This hidden whiskey bar made it to the world's 50 best bars list in 2015 and it's literally the bees knees. If you only check out one bar in Sydney, let it be this one.

Sightseeing

For the people who dont want to throw their hard earned cash on a bridge climb, this is the next best thing. Take a stroll through the rocks to the first set of pylons and make your way up to the lookout. From memory, I think it costs around $15. There's a history museum inside and then you climb the stairs to the top.

I only discovered this place recently and thoroughly enjoyed my morning wandering around the gardens. I finished the morning off with a cup of Chinese herbal tea and dumplings (which you pay for upon entry and totally worth it).

Quite a large market with live music and food. You'll find some really unique stores here (and the usual rubbish). A lot of fashionistas sell their pre-loved designer clothes here which is pretty cool.

Parks & Nature

Probably Sydney's most famous coastal walk and my old running route. Start off in Bondi, follow the coastline south and you wont get lost. You'll see amazing views of Bondi, sandstone cliffs, open ocean and if you're in season you might even spot a few whales breaching. I love walking all the way to Coogee then stopping off at the Pavillion for a well deserved glass of wine. Although you can walk it in 2 hours, I recommend setting off before 12pm as you'll catch all the beaches in their best light - especially Gordon's Bay.

Not your average beach! Gordon's Bay is a secluded and tranquil beach that is only accessible by joining the coastal walk from nearby streets. It doesnt have much sand, just big rocks on either side that people claim early on with their beach towels. A great spot for snorkelling, swimming and scuba diving.

Taking the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly is an activity in and of itself, once I saw the navy submarine emerging from the water right in front of me whilst on this ferry, safe to say I was drenched by the waves it created. Manly is a trendy suburb with a super chilled surfing vibe. If you walk along the shore to Shelly Beach you'll see some big lizards on the rocks.

If you want to see some native Australian birds, this is the place to go. Jam packed with cockatoos, black swans, parakeets and other cute birds. If you go, please don't feed the birds any bread, it's bad for their health.
