One of the most famous and iconic zen gardens in Kyoto. I love it here. It's very peaceful and not too crowded. Take bus 202 to Nishioji-nanajo. Then change to bus number 205. Get off at the golden pavilion (kinkaku-ji mae). From here, you can take bus 59 to Ryoan-ji mae bus stop.

Go back in time at the Gion district. You may see a Maiko if you're lucky in the evening. They are usually in a hurry and don't stop to say hello or have their pictures taken! Don't be fooled by imposters.
