Great views down over all of London its a short bus ride (271) from Thane Villas. Get off at the headstop in Highgate village and find the Fitzroy Park lane for a leafy walk past some fabulous properties to the model boating pond and onwards to the rest of the heath.
You can go jogging, walking & (uniquely for London) swimming in the ponds. There are separate ones for men, women and mixed - there is even 1 reserved for dogs!
Kenwood House, a stately home is on the heath and a good place to go for lunch or afternoon tea. They sometimes have outdoor concerts in the summer.

Go to St Pauls tube and walk across the Millenium bridge to the gallery. There is always something new and amazing. There is a great, free view from the 9th floor of the new extention that's worth a look.
From here you can stroll down the river towards Tower bridge or upriver to the Southbank and London Eye. There are a couple of the riverside pubs and plenty of eateries for all budgets.

Sightseeing
Its the easiest way to get into the Sky Gardens on top of the Walkie Talkie building. They do a good brunch with great views for about £45 a head on Sundays. Booking almost essential. You can get in for free but its almost impossible as the places aways get take so quickly.

Interesting if you like engineering - the engine room has steam engines and hydraulic systems - plus there are great views from the bridge walkways. They have glass panels in the floor which you can walk on. Good value too.

10 mins walk away the stadium is an impressive piece of architecture and houses the Arsenal Museum. You can tour the stadium and (of course!) go see a match :)

There is an open market with lots of cheap veg and fish plus McD's, KFC and Burger King if you are not feeling so healthy :)

A great place to go on a Sunday morning. Very colourful and cheap - especially if you go around closing time (13:00 ish) huge bunches of flowers for a fiver are not unknown. Great atmosphere and some good cafe's and pubs for lunch.
